Hi gang,

I normally save this for the Annual Survey in September, but:

1) What do you want more of?

2) What do you want less of?

3) What Next Big Project would you love to see?

Let's keep it as simple as that. Thanks!

Fewer one-off sword evolution comics, more storyline comics please

Dafydd Williams

More story (long or short arc, doesn’t matter!) comics! Nothing I’d like to see less of (love it all) Next Big Project: Return of Kargob (triumphant or not!)

Andrew Zak

More comics. Maybe instead of posting multiple at once - does them out to decrease staleness on the site. I check it everyday as part of my "daily webcomics check" and I'd rather see one new one every week or couple weeks instead of 5 or 8 every couple months. Also, maybe a collected edition book with things in storyline order, or annotations for flashbacks.

rockmannk

While I would like to see a few more STARS episodes, I think you should do what you feel is best for your physical and mental health.

I always enjoyed the story of the comics as it evolved over time. Would love to see more of the story brought around to each "arc," or at least to each major point that's been introduced. I would be remiss to say that I would also love to see more of Stars! In terms of what helps you get the most outreach and/or get the most views (and then ad revenue & profit!) I can understand if Swords is top priority for the foreseeable future.

Jacob Sabin

There isn't anything that I necessarily care to see less of per se, but I guess I would just love to see more story based comics, as opposed to so many gags or "play on words" 4 panel comics.

Jacob Sabin

As for any next "big" projects, I would love to see a physical collection or novel of some (or all) of the major arcs/stories in the comic. The Weekly Roll comics from CME_T recently had a kickstarter for something similar, and there was quite a few fun tidbits & trinkets added as bonuses for tiers. If you do something like that with Swords, then higher tiers could get some extra stickers, pins, bonus art, etc... (which a lot of that is already sold through Threadless!) You could also do a personalized signing for people that wish it, or something else of the like to bring in more money for you.

1) Swords. 2) Hm. Nothing I can think of. 3) The Next Big Plot.

koboldskeep

1) More of Swords being dumb and sometimes epic. 2) Don't worry about a schedule. Quality is better than quantity. 3) Swords TTRPG?

Matthew Wills

Importantly, would you rather have a Swords TTRPG, a Swords DnD book, or lots of modules for Cut the Deck?

koboldskeep

A unique TTRPG sounds awesome, but I'm the type of snooty nerd who dislikes D&D. A system-agnostic book might be nice.

Colten Knull

Dungeon monster party, more new members.

Vaarb

Swords TTRPG, DnD is not a very good system

Vaarb

More Stars and less Swords, but that's a personal bias. I don't mind waiting at all so as always your feelgood comes first And for a big project, a video game would be nice? They're a bit hard to make, but you're really talented, plus I'm sure you can find lots of volunteers to help if you need it

Vaarb

in terms of game genre, something with lots of comboable items from the comics would be perfect, be it roguelike or story-driven also I strongly prefer 2D vector or pixel graphics

C

More Swords story (especially the main storyline - what's happening in Hiltshire? - but Swor'nament and Choplet arcs also good) Fewer Swords one-shots Swords: the videogame!

Clara Snyder

1) What do you want more of? --MORE SWORDS 2) What do you want less of? --I don't know, but more SWORDS 3) What Next Big Project would you love to see? --SWORDS Video game

Hessel van der Eijk

1) more (web) comics of any kind 2) health issues for Matthew 3) physical comic books

Gabriel Regli

1) More Sword Lore 2) Don't worry about a schedule. Quality is better than quantity. 3) Swords TTRPG or Video Game.

Marcus

1 - SWORDS & STARS. 2 - Anything that gets in the way of more SWORDS & STARS. 3 - Are 'big projects' necessary? Regardless, if it's SWORDS and/or STARS I'm sure I'll be happy.

1. Regular update schedule for Swords, with an emphasis on ongoing storylines. 2. Hanging plotlines, like the Sworn'ament that never ends. 3. No particular preference, whatever your time and artistic inclination leads you to.

Wolf

1. World-building. Scenery. Story arcs that are easy to follow. Harpe and Joyeuse. 2. Quest Sprout and other "cute" characters (I hope the current Choplet strips will not devolve into the same direction).. References to real-world political or social issues of ANY kind (there've hardly been any to begin with, but - just saying). Time travel. 3. Actual swords?

Nick

1. Swords and other edged related material 2. ??? 3. Invasion of the blunt weapon kingdom?

Michael Negranol

Hmmm... More? I love the Mystery Swords. Just four swords and a joke or two in rapid succession. It's distilled Swordscomic. Less? ... Choplet feels like when Pokemon tries to replace Pikachu. You're not Quest Sprout Choplet. Next big project? ... Hm... I do enjoy the various gods of the Sworld. Maybe something more to do with them?

Lisa Munro

1) a quick cameo of the Instagram top comment characters (in the background of a soon to be released comic sort of thing). Keep the occasional cute story line. I like that variety. 2) less, that's tricky as I'm enjoying what you're putting out there at the moment. 3) annual swordament. Cut the deck mobile game?

Ryan Alcorn

1) more all of it. My kids love read8ng this comic with me. Especially quest sprout and choplet.

windrapier

1. Regular posting schedule. Other commenters said similar. The quantity is almost too much sometimes and then you have dry spots because you work on other things. I'd prefer you not necessarily post right when you're done, but create a backlog and have regular updates And I like the mini arcs, but some more updates or context of how the mini 2. Makeship campaigns. I am conflicted on this, and say it as someone who has 5 plushies and the qwest vinyl figure. If this is how you pay the bills, keep at it, but there's just so many plushies. At the least, if you have a new plushie you should do more comics with that character while the campaign is up. You do it a bit, but everstabbed wasn't really featured. It worked really well when you did the second release of qwest sprout with a coinciding increase of qwest comics Basically, less frequent plushies or do something to make the plushie special, more featuring of the character. 3. Timeline tracker, like have the different arcs mapped to a general timeline, something to help connect them. I like the split off arcs, just would like a bit more context sometimes

Matthew Wills

To be clear, the Everstabbed didn't get prominently featured because I was working on the Patreon Swor'nament.
