Another repeat guest on The Games Press this episode, as I catch up with Danny O'Dwyer following a surprise announcement that he's mostly done with visiting video game studios to film his documentaries in the style we've come to associate with @/noclip.What does that mean exactly? And what's driven such a significant change in direction? As Noclip celebrates its 10th birthday, I sit down with its founder to hear what's going on."And when I had that revelation that we've done sit-down, talking head videos with people for a long time. And that is a cost effective — you get a lot of great answers from questions, you have great control over the interviews, all that sort of stuff  —  but from a personal creative perspective, I am kind of getting sick of doing this, or at least I don't have another 10 years of doing it."

Wonderful conversation as always! when Danny was describing what kind of other stories he wants to tell, about classic games where the focus has to move to the scene around the game rather than the people who made it, about fan fests, about the connections people form due to games, I was here thinking "you know, what Danny's saying here is, People Play Games." Edited to add: lol he literally said it in the original noClip announcement.

I admire both of your reflectiveness, integrity and courage. Going “independent” sounds like it involved lots of sacrifices, but was also what let you create your Great work… so, thank you
