It's almost time for this month's Q&A! Ask a question, any question!

Alex Tan

Hi Addie, how are you today? How are Jeremy & Ollie? Is Ollie here with you today? I didn't get to see him in your last two Q&As. For the next Addie taste test, how about some Japanese snack foods? Strawberry Pocky vs strawberry Yan Yan vs strawberry Hello Panda. What is your favorite aspect ratio of the current Sony/Columbia Pictures logo? Flat (1.85:1): https://youtu.be/D6QLzln_yIo?feature=shared or Scope (2.39:1): https://youtu.be/Vk3JAq9yXzE?feature=shared Since you pranked us with a reaction to Anaconda (1997) on April Fools' Day, will we ever get to see you conquer your ophidiophobia (fear of snakes) with an actual reaction to that movie in October? Did you know that the furthest observation point of the Trinity test was the distant observation point? The base camp observers had to duck their heads down before the detonation. Do you get pollen allergies in the spring? In one of my rapid fire questions in your last Q&A, I mentioned that Armageddon (1998) and The Sixth Sense (1999) were Disney movies. Did you know that Disney used to have the Touchstone Pictures & Hollywood Pictures labels for more adult-oriented movies? Have you heard? A sequel to Happy Gilmore (1996) is in the works for Netflix. This was confirmed by Christopher McDonald (Shooter McGavin). Now that you've seen Top Gun (1986) & Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), will you react to more Tony Scott movies (including The Hunger (1983), Revenge (1990), Days of Thunder (1990), The Last Boy Scout (1991), True Romance (1993), Crimson Tide (1995), The Fan (1996), Enemy of the State (1998), Spy Game (2001), Man on Fire (2004), Domino (2005), Déjà Vu (2006), The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 (2009) and Unstoppable (2010))?

Alex

Hey Addie! Are there any movies you filmed a reaction to, but just didn't enjoy, so never released it?

Alex Tan

FOUR HOT TAKE QUESTIONS: Do you have any strong opinions on whether or not Hollywood has become "infantilized" with its emphasis on animation, musicals, and particularly fantasy or comic book-based blockbuster films and franchises? There was a debate about this subject that took place at the end of 2019, ever since most of the highest-grossing movies of the latter half of the 2010s, beginning in 2016 and continuing up to 2019, were made by Disney. Not only that, just recently at CinemaCon, a film adaptation of Monopoly that's produced by Margot Robbie was announced after the success of Barbie (2023) and an upcoming film adaptation of The Sims video game series. Do you have any strong opinions on Disney being heavily focused on making movies that fit within their Walt Disney Animation Studios, Marvel and Star Wars brands? I asked this after Tim Burton said that he was no longer interested in making movies for Disney. Do you also have any strong opinions regarding the use of forced diversity in Hollywood? Forced diversity as in depictions of diversity and inclusion being inserted in movies and shows without a creatively honest reason for it as well as changing certain elements to fit within modern social ideals or appease a certain agenda without any valid reason to it either, for example: brief same sex kiss scenes in Disney movies. And do you have any strong opinions on the recent trend of movie musicals being marketed as normal movies to entice most people, who don't like musical movies in general, to see them?

Alex Tan

The "Oh No!" scenario: Oh No! You fell into a dark pit and you see a snake which causes you to scream bloody murder. Would you rather fall into the snake-filled Well of Souls from Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) or that dark cave that has a snake in it from True Grit (2010)?

Alex Tan

Hello Addie :) Two questions: 1) Of all the movies & shows you’ve reacted to so far, what is one you would love to show someone else for the first time? 2) What’s a movie you saw on your own that you wish you could have recorded your first-time reaction to?

Randee Carreno

Hi Addie! Happy Tuesday! 😊 Have you ever thought about doing collaboration reactions with other reactors? There's several(Natalie Gold, Ashleigh Burton, Kaiielle, Mary Cherry, TimotheeReacts, Clariss, Angelina, BillyBinges, and Popcorn in Bed)that you would have fun with.

Jake Stokes

Hi Addie, I know it’s an odd question but what are your thoughts on LEGO?

Billy Dancel

Hello there! (Yes I wrote that in his voice) Four months in the year already, time flies when you’re having a great time. On to the next questions… What is the timeline of making a video? Say you recorded on the 1st of a month. Patreon post date? How many days to edit? Do you upload to YT the same day as posting or some days before? Have you heard any good reviews of the series, Shōgun? It’s very worthy of the hype. Has the thought of reacting to movie trailers crossed your mind? One featuring a certain director or actor/actress? Can you ask Ollie to pay us a visit? Take care of yourself, Add-E

Gremlin8723

Greetings addie, from the flatlands of oklahoma. Do movie scores play a big part in how much you like/dislike a movie and if so, who would you consider to be your favorite movie score composer?

LightsCameraJake

Hello addie, with reacting to movies as a full time job/hobby, do you find yourself ever getting burnout and if so what do you do to mitigate it?

Randolph Tirazona

I - myself - would recommend 'shying away from collab's' as "both sides" have to 'mesh well together' as well as it being much different than 'self-reactions.' I've seen some and very few of them 'mesh well for both' parties. But I will say that Addie may be fine with Cassie (PiB); as some things 'between them' are 'right in line' with each other.

Randolph Tirazona

Addie! Can we have more Ollie please? I know and can seriously relate to you and other reactors noting that they're 'invested' within a movie. Which movie or series have you been invested with the most?!?

David hess

Hey addie have u ever seen the fox and the hound if not I'd really like to see ur reaction to it when u can.

Thomas Wetherell

I saw you took a few minutes to play a game for a few minutes last Q&A, would you be interested in reacting to a commercial called “We Are ODST” for this Q&A? I know you only have so much time for the video, but it’s only two and a half minutes and personally I think it’s one of the coolest and most impactful commercials I’ve seen.

Phil Stubblefield

I said this in the comment to your April Fools video, but why didn't you pad the video by filming Ollie being his adorable self for a half hour at the dog park? That would have been more enjoyable than 90% of the content on YouTube! 😁

Thomas Wetherell

Since you watched We Stand Alone Together, would you be interested in reacting to a similar movie called They Shall Not Grow Old? It’s directed by Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings) and it tells the story of World War I veterans with some incredible restored footage. I rarely cry even in sad movies, but this one got me (in a good way though).

Doug

With the solar eclipse being in the news here this week, did you watch it? And on a tangent, have you seen any of these films that included eclipses? 🌙 - 2001 A Space Odyssey - Apocalypto - Dolores Claiborne or Gerald’s Game (interestingly these two Stephen King novels are actually linked, the eclipse happens in both) - Dune part 2 - Fantasia - Little Shop of Horrors - Pitch Black - Rogue One (that’s no moon!!) P.S. I originally thought about asking about films with pranks for April Fools, but there’s only one or two decent ones. 🤷‍♂️

Victor

When will we get an Ollie stream 😂?

Alex Tan

Imagine Addie & Cassie watching The Exorcist (1973). Now that's gonna be wild time as they karate chop their way through it.

Thomas Wetherell

I know it didn’t win the last one, but would you be willing to put War of the Worlds (2005) on future polls? P.S. I’ll make this my last question for this Q&A I promise. I’ll try to keep it to one in the future so I’m not inundating you.

Aldo Gonzales

Alex, you always ask way too many questions. Give up some room for the rest of us, will ya?

Phil Stubblefield

@Byrd N. Hand: Wow, I was just about to use the exact same phrase in describing Cassie and Addie as the most "wholesome" reactors on YouTube! Which, BTW, is why they'll probably always be my favorites. @Alex Tan: Cassie and Addie watching The Exorcist? *Never* gonna happen! (And I'm completely fine with that...)

Carlo Glingani

Hello there! 😊I wanted to ask you if you intended to continue the Pirates Of The Caribbean saga with the last two remaining films? And would you consider to watch and react to Saltburn and Poor Things in the future? 😉

Alex Tan

TBH, I aim to write fewer questions to make sure Addie answers my set in its entirety, after her May Q&A onwards were becoming around 30 minutes long.

PHILLIP CORNISH

When you going to make Phill happy and post Chernobyl? 😘

Alex Tan

Nothing wrong with that.

Alex Tan

Will you react to Meet the Parents (2000) and its sequels Meet the Fockers (2004) & Little Fockers (2010), all three with Robert De Niro & Ben Stiller?

Alex Tan

Same here. It's some of the Ben Stiller movies that I've been suggesting to her after she watched Tropic Thunder (2008). #MeetTheParentsForAddieCounts

PHILLIP CORNISH

LOL. Did think id be waiting a little longer. You is mi newest best friend in the world.

Zachary Huneycutt

Hi, Addie. Are you in the mood for something silly? Or serious? How about a little bit of both. The links you'll need to tune in are in your Patreon messages. Whose side are you on/whose point of view do you like better? The humans', or the dog's?

Luis Fernandez

You decide to celebrate a holiday by having a 4-movie marathon on the day. What is the holiday and which four movies do you select to watch?

Luis Fernandez

Since you've started the foreign films journey, for this month's movie recs I'll include four solid, reasonably popular, and "modern" foreign films: Life is Beautiful (1997, Italy, dir Roberto Benigni); Amelie (2001, France, dir Jean-Pierre Jeunet); 13 Assassins (2010, Japan, dir Takashi Miike); The Handmaiden (2016, South Korea, dir Park Chan-wook). The Handmaiden is great but may be a bit spicy, so I'll include an alternate: Parasite (2019, South Korea, dir Bong Joon-ho)

Carlo Glingani

Hi Addie! Other question: you will watch Fallout? It's a new series on prime video, based on a videogame

Kevin Cavanaugh

Hello, here’s a question for you. I don’t know if you’ve answered it another stream, but you may have. Do you find yourself watching or re-watching movies, even after you’ve seen them for the channel

Luis Fernandez

I'd love to see those directors, but given that we haven't had many older Hollywood films, I'd be all for starting with more modern foreign films and working our way back in time.

Alex

I've just watched your Ready Player One reaction. Did you ever get chance to read the book? It's one of my favourites!

Alex Tan

Will you react to Silverado (1985) with Kevin Kline, Scott Glenn, Kevin Costner and Danny Glover? It's an 80's Western that's shot in Super Techniscope (Super 35). Will you react to White House Down (2013) with Channing Tatum & Jamie Foxx? It's a straight pure action thriller movie that's from the director of Independence Day (1996). When masking the movie footage on Adobe Premiere Pro, how do you handle the aspect ratio of movies or movies with switching aspect ratios?

Alex Tan

I second Amélie (2001). I watched it with my French cousin on my vacation in France this past October and I enjoyed it. I even watched it again on the flight home as one of the in-flight movies. It'll definitely make Addie smile. #AmélieForAddieCounts
