Happy Friday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed Scott Pilgrim vs. The World (2010). I plan on watching this movie either tonight or later.

Ian Forbes

Love this movie. Getting my copy out now to watch along!

Happy Friday, Addie! 😊 This is such a fun movie. I always try to watch it whenever it's on tv. And every once in awhile I forget that Chris Evans is in this one. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today & a great weekend! 😊

Addie has quite a few video game style movie reacts within recent history on her channel. Ready Player One, Tron (and soon Tron Legacy) and now Scott Pilgrim. Which is a comic and a fun video game that a lot of people enjoy playing. Soon we are also getting Fallout which is also based on the video game World. It's a great time to be an Addie fan.

Addie, for more Edgar Wright, I recommend Baby Driver. He also directed a tv series starring Simon Pegg (and with Nick Frost as a central character) called Spaced. 2 seasons with not a lot of episodes, you can see both the evolution of Wright’s style and some of the inspiration for the Cornetto trilogy.

I second Baby Driver (2017). It was shot in Atlanta, Georgia, which is where I'm from. I would love to see Addie watch that movie on her channel soon, although it's listed on her Letterboxd account. #BabyDriverForAddieCounts

Ian Forbes

I always forget to check letterboxd. 😃

Speaking of Chris Evans, I still suggest Fantastic Four (2005) and it's sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007). #FantasticFourForAddieCounts

Baby Driver is fantastic, I'll third that recommendation!

This is one of my favorite movies to put on when I just want something fun to watch in the background. I've only watched it in full maybe 4 or 5 times, but I've watched it while doing other things dozens of times. Which is kind of funny, since the first time I saw this, it REALLY irritated me. I was only like 8 or 9 when I first saw it, and I didn't get the nuance of it. Scott was such a douche, and Knives was so awesome, and it just infuriated me to see the progression of the movie with such an unlikable main character when everyone around him was cooler, funnier, or more interesting. I rewatched it like four-ish years later and had a complete turnaround of opinion because I actually got it the second time. Anyway, I'm glad you liked it. I'm always happy to hear other people have enjoyed one of my favorite movies. I know you're not much into sports (I'm not either) but I have to once again suggest "The Replacements" and "Mystery, Alaska." Both are sports comedies. Despite me not being a sports fan, those are two of my other favorite movies to play frequently when I just want something fun to watch. I honestly think you'd like them both.

I recommend watching the Netflix anime, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, that came out earlier this year. The whole cast came back to do voices and a bunch of characters that got overlooked in the movie (Lucas Lee, Julie, the twins, Roxy, Kim etc.) get a lot more development and screen time. It’s a not quite a sequel and tons of fun. If you want more Edgar Wright, Baby Driver is in a similar fast style and Last Night in Soho is an excellent creepy ghost story that feels different but is just as clever. I’d also add Attack the Block which he produced and would be great to go in blind on but is absolutely fantastic.

This movie is what introduced me to the band "Metric," thanks to Brie's singing.

Ian Forbes

Attack the Block! Man, I forgot Edgar produced that. It is a fun one.

I turned down the invite of watching this movie every time when it came out. I was so not interested. Then along came an influencer from YouTube named Add-E who forced me into… hahahaha jk jk Most of the movies that even I haven’t seen, I’ve changed my mind to watch because of you. Thank you!

On a related tangent for this film, I was watching an Arrested Development compilation today and thought "Huh, Michael Cera's 'really forgettable' girlfriend Ann on the show looks really familiar". I looked it up and it turns out that actress, Mae Whitman, was the Evil Lesbian Ex Roxy Richter in Scott Pilgrim. They must have had fun reuniting on the set for that! 😄
