HOT TAKE QUESTION: Do you have any strong opinions on whether or not Hollywood has become "infantilized" with its emphasis on animation, musicals, and particularly fantasy or comic book-based blockbuster films and franchises? There was a debate about this subject that took place at the end of 2019, ever since most of the highest-grossing movies of the latter half of the 2010s, beginning in 2016 and continuing up to 2019, were made by Disney. Not only that, just recently, actress Jessica Lange called out Hollywood for being "too corporatized and lacking artistry."

zynjams

There are literally thousands of movies to pick from, why do all the reaction hosts pick the same movies

Alex Tan

Carlo Glingani

Hi Addie, I wanted to ask if you would consider watching the now dead DCEU starting with Man of Steel. I saw that you watched all the MCUmovies and I wanted to know if you would like to do the same thing with the DC movies

Carlo Glingani

would you watch IT CHAPTER ONE and IT CHAPTER TWO? or do you think they are too scary?

Simone's Coconut Squire

Have you ever started watching a movie you just couldn’t finish for whatever reason? (Too scary/boring/gory/etc)

Carlo Glingani

with the new chapter coming out soon, would you like to start the "Apes saga", which began in 2011 with Rising Of The Planet Of The Apes?

Chase

Hey, Addie since you’ve watched the Deadpool and Wolverine movies, are you excited for Deadpool and Wolverine: LFG?

Michael Brown

Hi Addie, have you ever watched Scarface? It's one of favorites. I would love to see your reaction to it.

LightsCameraJake

Hey addie, what are you thoughts on Bernard Hill Passing away? He was the legendary actor who played our beloved Theodin King in Lord of the Rings.

Alex Tan

Speaking of Ryan Reynolds, will you react to The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) and its sequel, Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard (2021), both with Ryan Reynolds in it alongside Samuel L. Jackson & Salma Hayek.

LaserLamb

Nothing beats the Whammy Burger 🍔 in 'Falling Down'! 😋

Chase

Oh that’s a good one!! 😂

Steve SG-1

Would you react to some Smuggling movies? That's always a fun genre. Here's a list: American Made (2017), Blood Diamond (2006), Lord of War (2005), Three Kings (1999), Con Air (1997), Operation Dumbo Drop (1995).

Chase

Hey, Addie since you’ve reacted to “Fight Club” (1999) Do you think you could react to Primal Fear (1996)? which also stars Edward Norton.

Chase

He should’ve won an Oscar for that role he was robbed!!! 😒

LaserLamb

2 content creators I can recommend are 'Movies With Mia', & 'Movies With Marty', no connection between the 2. Check them out!

zynjams

That’s not an answer, PiB shows X-men, then Jen shows X-men, then Jen shows Star Trek the next G, then PiB shows the same, and the girl in the spider tattoo will be shown by everybody.

Alex Tan

Now that's a movie that I would love to see Addie watch. The customer is always right. #FallingDownForAddieCounts

One possible reason is that most of these channels use polls and viewer suggestions to select their films, and they also overlap in their audience as well. So the movies that win the polls and that get suggested are going to tend to be ones that happen to be in the popular zeitgeist at that moment. That alone will result in quite a few repeats in the requests and poll winners, especially for films that have die hard fans in the mix. This also can result in some of the fans seeing a movie they like on one channel then requesting it on another. And some of it is just plain coincidence, along with selectively remembering repeated offerings compared to unique ones. You're probably more inclined to remember when two channels both happen to feature the same movie more strongly than when two channels show different movies. So it might not even be as common as you think. 🤷‍♂️

Alex Tan

A bona fide horror classic that I'm definitely throwing in is the 2000 Extended Director's Cut of The Exorcist (1973), AKA: The Version You've Never Seen. #TheExorcistForAddieCounts

Doug

Hi Addie, out of curiosity have you seen anything in the last few months outside of the channel that you enjoyed but weren't going to rewatch here? (Or do you mainly reserve your TV and film watching for the channel nowadays?)

PHILLIP CORNISH

I would love to see Addie react to "Days of Thunder" "The last boy Scott" "True Romance" Crimson Tide" and "Man on fire"

Alex Tan

...and for the umpteenth time, if Addie watches the Christopher Reeves Superman movies then I STRONGLY recommend the 2000 Special Edition of Superman: The Movie (1978) and Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut (2006). As for the DCEU, I STRONGLY recommend the Ultimate Edition of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) & the Snyder Cut of Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021). #DCEUForAddieCounts

Alex Tan

Those are several Tony Scott movies that I've been suggesting to Addie after she watched Top Gun (1986) & Beverly Hills Cop II (1987). #MoreTonyScottForAddieCounts

zynjams

I like Mia, lots of old movies thay I enjoy

LaserLamb

Hey Addie! Would you consider adding an "Oh!" Counter on screen to your reactions? 😄 It would be funny, & probably a useful rating system as well! 🤭

Thomas Wetherell

Hey Addie, would you be interested in watching L.A. Confidential? It’s a really cool historical period crime movie and was also the first big movie Russell Crowe and Guy Pearce starred in. I think you’d like it a lot, I hope you have a wonderful May!

Alex Tan

...and Captain Edward John Smith in Titanic (1997).

Alex Tan

The 1983 movie with Al Pacino as Tony Montana, right?

NickLovesMovies

Now that you knocked out Chernobyl do you plan on watching True Detective? Another HBO limited series starring Matthew McConauhey and Woody Harrelson

Philip Davetas

Am I restricted to asking you anything versus say something? I've always preferred somethings to anythings. Much more convenient.

Alex Tan

Aside from the Star Wars sequel trilogy, do you have any controversial movie opinions regarding movies that you've enjoyed (either on your channel or on your own) that were often considered to be bad? In particular, movies that you dearly love yet you don't care what anyone says.

Jay Perry

What do you do to relax?

Aldo Gonzales

Alex, please chill. You already asked way too much, again. Or at the very least you make them too long.

Alex Tan

Please relax, this is the last question that I'll ask for her upcoming May Q&A.

Spawncalibur

Have you seen any of these films? Was surprised not to see Blade Runner and the sequel? Both amazing if you haven't. Two movies that not many have done and I highly recommend is Donnie Darko and never seen anyone react to Stir of Echos! As a movie buff Im surprised with there cult status from many people. Keep up the great work!

Luis Fernandez

Chances are that the '68 film is already spoilt, but just in case it isn't, I think Addie should start there. The original film would be spoilt by the prequels, and the prequels would only be enhanced by watching the original first.

Cameron Kerby

Stir of Echoes! Yes!! Great suggestion dude. I love that movie and I wish more people would react to it.

Thomas Wetherell

Would you be interested in watching Black Hawk Down and or doing a war movie poll in the near future? Black Hawk Down is a very impactful movie and probably my personal favorite.

Alex Tan

EDIT: Not only that, It's no wonder why Tim Burton said that he'll no longer work with Disney. And also, most of the MCU movies that came out last year, except Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), didn't do well at all. Hopefully that all changes when Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) comes out and we get fewer MCU movies in a year. Ergo, it'll put them back on track with better quality, IMO.

Alex Tan

Yep. That's why I praise Tim Burton for his visual style. When he looks back on Dumbo (2019), he says that it's semi-biographical.

BlakeK80DrumCovers

Hey Addie, I apologise if you've been asked this question loads of times before, but would you ever consider doing music reactions? there are a few songs in particular i'd love to see you react to. Hope you're well, Lot's of love and good wishes.

LightsCameraJake

Shes answered this every time saying she wouldnt do them sadly.

LightsCameraJake

People say they are crap yet every reactor at least the 5 or 6 that I watch, who has seen the snyderverse DC films has loved every single one of them up to the Snydercut of Justice league. Addie would absolutely enjoy them and many people want her to see them :)

Phil Stubblefield

Being a run-of-the-mill brunette (that is, back when I *had* hair...), I've always wondered about this: Do you identify with other redheads? When you see a redheaded character like reporter Peggy Brandt in _The Mask_, are you more likely to identify with her than with, say, a Cameron Diaz?

Billy Dancel

I hope you all are safe, I saw that a tornado hit TN. Scary. It’s been a while since you finished the Bond movies. Do you plan on watching the Mission Impossible movies? Speaking of Mission Impossible, Cassie and Carly from Popcorn in Bed were invited to the premiere of a M I movie because Tom Cruise saw one of their videos. Which actor or actress would you like to see a reaction video of yours and invite you to their next movie? (sorry for the long setup to this question) Let’s get to know ADD-E. Back when you were graduating H.S. What were you “most likely” to do goal?and your “least likely” to do? You can’t answer, have a YT channel, as your “least” Take care of yourself, Addie.

Wenceslao21

After seeing the Rocky/Creed movies, would you consider the movie "Cinderella Man"? Like Rocky/Creed it's boxing with Heart.

Zachary Huneycutt

Hi, Addie. Hope you're doing well. I've got a funny one for you to check out this month that I think you'll get a kick out of. It was one of my best performances on the show to date and also caused a lot of controversy. You'll appreciate the drama. I'll share the links with you in your messages.

Aldo Gonzales

Hi, Addie. I missed my chance to ask my questions last month when it was my birthday. I’m sorry that these are a little long, but I hope you’ll check them out. I did my best to make them easier to read. 1.) Do you plan to react to the new Star Wars series called The Acolyte? It’ll premiere on Tuesday June 4th with two episodes. The story is eight episodes long, and it takes place about a century before Phantom Menace. Do you remember Dafne Keen? She got to portray Laura in Logan 2017, and she was only 11 at the time. Dafne is now 19, and she got to work on The Acolyte. She portrayed a new character named Jecki Lon. 2.) Have you ever seen Kingsman: The Secret Service? It’s a British spy film, but it’s different from the James Bond franchise. It was directed by Matthew Vaughn who also worked on the Kick-Ass franchise and X-Men: First Class. 3.) If and when you plan to watch X-Men ‘97, would you prefer to watch the five seasons of original cartoon in your own time before you get there or would you rather we tell you bits and pieces of what happened back then as we go along? Two more seasons are in development. 4.) Shoshana from the Perfect Mix also has a fear of snakes like you do. What advice would you give her? And in a fantasy situation, who would you want to save you both from them? 5.) The DCEU is no more, but have you ever seen James Gunn’s Suicide Squad? It’s actually really good, and it had a successful spin-off series on HBO Max that he also worked on. I feel like both might interest you, especially since we know James delivered with the Guardians’ franchise. 6.) Would you also consider watching Blue Beetle? It has no direct connection to the DCEU, and James Gunn said there’s a great chance he can incorporate the events of this movie into his new DC universe which will include his Suicide Squad.

drew

do you plan on watching either the tmnt movies starting with the 1990 movie or the superman movies starting with the 1978 movie

Jake Stokes

Have any favorite lines from Lord of the Rings films? Also did you see the giant new LEGO tower or Barad-Dûr?
