Happy Thursday, Addie. All are great choices but my votes go to Blade Runner (1982) & Blade Runner 2049 (2017), the two Tom Cruise/Steven Spielberg movies Minority Report (2002) & War of the Worlds (2005), The Day After Tomorrow (2004) and Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) & its sequels.

Randee Carreno

Happy Thursday, Addie! 😊 Another great movie poll. All great choices for this one. I ended up voting for "Rise of the Planet of the Apes" with it's two sequels, and my second choice would be "Blade Runner & Blade Runner 2049". Have a great day today! 😊

Luis Fernandez

Voting for Blade Runner. Unpopular opinion: you can skip the sequel. If Planet of the Apes wins, I'd suggest you start with the original from 1968. First, it is the best of all those movies (past and current). Second, order does matter here, and if you decide to watch it later you'll go in with information that may ruin some surprises. Granted the film is old and a classic, so it is probably already spoilt for you, but just in case. Regarding Godzilla... I'd like to say that you should watch the original first, but dangit they did such a good job that I don't think it is necessary. But do return to the older Japanese films at some point - they are a good time. The Monsterverse is skippable IMO.

QuiGon_Jim

Ooh 'Bladerunner' is great! And I know ow you have it in the poll but definitely watch 2049 too.. it's a great sequel and it's also a continuation of your Denis Villeneuve film journey.

QuiGon_Jim

Watched 'Godzilla Minus One' last night.. don't see what all the fuss is about.. it's an ok film with some scattered scenes of Godzilla smashing stuff. 6/10 for me.

Jesse Shadows

I’ve waited so long for you to watch the new Planet Of The Apes movies!!!

BlakeK80DrumCovers

I chose Robocop, but Blade Runner is bloody brilliant so... yeah, all good.

LightsCameraJake

Addie I want to express that for the first blade runner, watch the "Final Cut"

Doug

Some good movies on this poll. It looks like Blade Runner is winning pretty handily, which is ok. It’s not my first pick of these to watch but it’s a good flick. 🙂

Mr. Writhms

Agreed. Or... we riot. 😁

Spawncalibur

Happy to see both Blade Runner films on here! Agree with LightsCameraJake. Watch Final Cut. Realistically Im sure most streaming services would just have final cut as its known as the definitive version you could say. Make sure though as its the best experience. Oh I believe the time is the same as the theatrical no worries there. The studio butchered the theatrical release with Ford narrating the movie as the studio thought people were too dumb to understand. Didnt Ford say with that dumb idea he recorded that high? He sure sounds a bit outta it. Then again he was always high. Sorry lol

Mr. Writhms

If "Blade Runner" loses another poll on this channel, I'm going to break out my Voight-Kampff machine and start testing people.

Philip Davetas

Jeez. So tricky. i can do without DAY AFTER TOMORROW and PACIFIC RIM, but BLADE RUNNER is tough. Each version of BLADE RUNNER leaves you with different conclusions. And there is one version that is widely accepted, but doesn't match up with the sequel. And to be clear MINUS ONE is not part of the Monsterverse. I'm not mansplaining. I don't know what you know so I'm just putting it out there just in case. But, dude, you gotta hit up the Monsterverse. It's not that long. And watch out for the post credits.

Joe Mallard

Apes, definitely! The original movie can be watched after.

Spawncalibur

I agree there is that one little thing that wont say but not a big deal on 1st watch imo. After watching it or even both something good to know about so your not left confused on that little detail. It wont take a way from the experience regardless the more I think about it though. Such a masterpiece. Both films

Seeing Blade Runner but not its sequel is like seeing Terminator but not its sequel. The sequel builds on the lore of the first one while doing everything much better in terms of overall writing and production, though the original Blade Runner is good too like the original Terminator. The sequels just build on everything that made them good and adds even more.

Chant with me: BLADE RUNNER FINAL CUT! BLADE RUNNER FINAL CUT! BLADE RUNNER FINAL CUT! BLADE RUNNER FINAL CUT! #BladeRunnerFinalCutForAddieCounts

The Apes movies. Starting with the 1968 film Planet of the Apes.

Steve Mercier

So pretty much everything on here is golden...but if you do Blade Runner (1982), it is imperative (nay, downright necessary) that you watch either the dubiously titled DIrector's Cut or the Final Cut, and not the original theatrical cut, which chokes on its own vomit, dies, and then mutates into a world-killing disease. Blade Runner 2049, on the other hand, only has the one version (of which I am aware), and is mother$%&@ing spectacular just the way it is.

Joe Blankenship

Voted Robocop and Godzilla -1. Blade Runner's good but I just don't have the same love for it that some do. It's one I gotta be "in the mood for."

Julian San

This is the first poll ever where I voted for every single option!

Luis Fernandez

In the case of the Terminators, we're in agreement. T2 was wonderful. But for me, I would consider BR2 more on par with T3... not a terrible film, but not particularly good and ultimately forgettable.

Alex Vazquez

Before seeing the recent Apes Trilogy of movies whenever you get to them, it's best to see the original Apes quintet from the '60s and '70s: Planet of the Apes Beneath the Planet of the Apes Escape From the Planet of the Apes Conquest of the Planet of the Apes Battle for the Planet of the Apes They tell one continuous epic story that loops back on itself. The current series is informed by the concepts and characters of the originals. Additionally, the first film features a great Chuck Heston performance, Oscar-winning practical effects and one of cinema's most iconic moments!

Chris

Why does Godzilla have such low votes 😭

Neversure

Three seashells anyone?

Andre Agog

Robocop all the way. Best action movie of the 80s.

Henkan

Blade Runner has to be Final Cut, like others have commented. Director's Cut is also OK. Original Theatrical Cut is a no-go.

John A

They're all pretty meh. Watch Cop Land, it's a far better Stallone movie than any other one you've got left to see

Philip Davetas

Yeah, I saw meme on how those three sea shells work. Hilarious.

Aaron Taft

I liked the Theatrical Cut, because it was the one I watched as a child... But I also agree that the Final Cut is the best one and the one you should react to

Philip Davetas

There's not that much different in the Final Cut. Maybe the Zora scene. But ya know what? I'm a sucker for the BR. I'll go with it.

Alex Tan

Speaking of fixing continuity errors, the 1993 Special Edition of The Abyss (1989) will also do the same.

Miles E Coburn

I agree. I think I'm the only person on Earth who likes the Deckard narration in the movie. It gives it a film-noir feel.
