Randee Carreno

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 I love this movie! So glad that you're revisiting it before watching the second one. This one of those that's not only a must-watch for me during the holidays, but year round. So excited to watch this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊

Ooh, I don't know, Addie! You steered us all toward your friend Camilla, and then you let her beat you to a Home Alone reaction... What's going on here?!? 😉

Alex Tan

Happy Wednesday, Addie. I'm also glad that you rewatched Home Alone (1990) before Lost in New York (1992). I agree with Randee Carreno that this is a Christmas must-watch. My favorite part is when Marv gets a face full of spider and screams like a girl. See you soon for the second movie. BTW, nice Little Nero's Pizza sweater.

This is the movie we put on when we put up our tree every year, the day after Thanksgiving! It's our son's favorite! We only watch Christmas movies from Black Friday to New Year's Eve... except for the Hallmark Christmas movies. I watch them year-round!

Hey Addie fun fact fact about this movie: Joe Peaci, who plays Harry, is known for heavy swearing in most his films, he wasn't allowed to do that in this movie and instead he had to find a way not to swear since it was 2nd nature to him, so he chose to mumble the swear words with his lips and every time he would accidentally swear they had to do another take. His mumbling was so funny they just kept it in the movie 😂

Hehe I didn't know that people would be interested in seeing a rewatch to this!

Phil Stubblefield

If I were a conspiracy buff, I'd be screaming, "Collusion!" 😂

Man, I thought for the longest time that that “Angels With Filthy Souls” movie was REAL! That was up until I saw its star (Ralph Foody) in a MODERN tv show. 😂

Alex Tan

Well, I guess we were after HA2 won your latest poll.

Remember when this first came out. Sat with my ex wife and the kids at the time around a log fire and we still all to this very day remember a happy family time with lots of smiles. 😁

Dark Shogun

Ok wait, this is really the first time you've seen this? You must be punished for that oversight. Your punishment is to watch Pluto Nash. j/k Edit: The above comment was made BEFORE I saw the reaction and she said she is rewatching this.

Speaking of John Heard (RIP), who plays Peter McCallister, I also suggest Cat People (1982), for next Halloween. It's executive produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Paul Schrader. #CatPeople1982ForAddieCounts https://youtu.be/pegqV1jTzHg?feature=shared

I remember this movie being an instant hit when it came out, but I don't remember it becoming widely seen as a Christmas Classic until a few years later.

⚠️IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT!⚠️: When Addie watches Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (1992), please DO NOT bring up that one scene at 26:44 and PLEASE don't mention it in the reply of this comment. It's not worth getting into it.

The funny thing to me about Home Alone is that all the trailers and zeitgeist around the movie revolve around Kevin taking out the robbers with booby traps, but in reality that whole section is literally only 15 minutes long or so out of a roughly 100 minute run time. The bulk of the movie has basically nothing to do with the booby traps scene, instead it’s about Kevin figuring out he actually misses his family, his Mom’s efforts trying to get back, Kevin and the old neighbor having a heart to heart, and various side things going on with the rest of Kevin’s family. So even though the film is kind of known for the slapstick comedy at the end, I think ironically the film’s strength actually lies in the mood set by the other elements. So yeah, it’s a surprisingly good Christmas movie, and that’s almost despite the cartoony antics at the end!

After all these years, I'm now just seeing that that's a young Hope Davis as the French ticket agent. 😲

You don't wanna know.

As I've mentioned in the past, it just feels downright awkward when a reactor doesn't start a movie franchise from the very beginning. I'd rather they just do a re-watch of the previous titles than start at a second or third installment of the series. Other re-watches I'd like to see Addie do: "Knives Out" (given that she's already watched "Glass Onion" for the channel... and before the third movie comes out), the first 2 "Chronicles of Narnia" movies (since she still hasn't seen the third one), "The Prestige" (once she's seen all of Christopher Nolan's other films), "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" (once she's seen all of Quentin Tarantino's other films), and her 4 now-lost reactions from the channel's infancy: "E.T.," "Ghostbusters," "Beetlejuice," and "Edward Scissorhands" (particularly so she can also react to "Ghostbusters 2" and "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice").

Rest in Peace, Catherine O'Hara, who passed away yesterday (1/30/26). I'll be remembering her by watching my favorite Christmas movie, 'Home Alone'. This is a little late, but thanks for your reaction, Addie
