Content

I realized after watching Field of Dreams that I've only seen a couple of Kevin Costner's movies! Help me choose a movie to watch next!

Mark Dahlen

Dances has always been one of my 5 favorite movies

Alex Tan

Happy Tuesday, Addie. All are great choices but since Dances with Wolves (1990) & The Untouchables (1987) are leading this poll, I'll go along with them.

Endling_king

The Postman is a great movie too

Byrd N. Hand

Needs "Silverado" and "No Way Out." Maybe also "The Big Chill," even though only Costner's hands and forehead are actually seen in it (his main scene was cut from the final film).

Randee Carreno

Happy Tuesday, Addie! 😊 This is a great, yet tough poll to vote in since all of these are my favorite Kevin Costner movies. You're making this difficult for me. LOL! I ended up voting for "The Bodyguard" followed by "The Untouchables". Have a great day today!

Salsa Shark

Tin Cup... but it wasn't an option

FWPJR.

I love Robin Hood, it’s a really great version of the story. I saw it twice in the theater when it came out back in the day, so I do have a lot of nostalgia that comes with it. Plus I love the Bryan Adams song that came out just for the movie lol The Untouchables is also really great, so I’m hoping one of the two will win this.

Alex Tan

Other Kevin Costner movies for future polls that I'll recommend are Silverado (1985), Revenge (1990), Waterworld (1995), Tin Cup (1996), The Postman (1997) and Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 1 (2024). #MoreKevinCostnerForAddieCounts

adam weisler

"No Way Out" is a very underrated political thriller, Addie. Please consider that one too.

Luis Fernandez

The Postman gets a bunch of hate, and it does have a high cheese factor, but it is a personal Costner favorite of mine.

The Dingo

There isn't a single bad choice in this list

Gremlin8723

Waterworld or The Postman are my recommendations

Kawaii Leonard

Yep. A Kevin Costner poll without Waterworld is a crime. 😋

Jeff I.

Looks like The Untouchables may narrowly win. Kind of a shame, since I think Dances with Wolves is a much better movie overall. I found Costner's acting in Untouchables to be really bad.

Chris

Better Call Saul! Jk iykyk 😂

JaxonDanger12

Tin Cup would’ve been in my top 5

AniLunchbox

Recommending 'Draft Day' is a 2014 Costner film about the manager of an American Football team trying to turn the team around. I'd refer to it as the Moneyball or even Field of Dreams of football films. It's not about the players on the field, it's about the people in the offices who do everything they can to allow those players to concentrate on the game.

Thomas Wetherell

No Way Out (1987) needs to be on another poll!

Alex Tan

Hear, hear. #WaterworldForAddieCounts

LaserLamb

'Field Of Dreams' is one my least favorite movies, that's stating it mildly. All these other movies have so much more to offer.

Robert da Spruce

Dances with Wolves and Open Range would be my top picks

Josh McHugh

A Perfect World (1993) is one of my fav's. I think Addie would enjoy it.

Bobby Cowart

Definitely Dances With Wolves very very good movie one of my favorites make sure if you do get it get the director's cut because they cut a lot out

Jay Perry

The Bodyguard has "I will Always Love You," a cover of a Dolly Parton song, by Whitney Houston. Dolly lover her version. It will tear your heart out.

Matthew Periolat

Honestly, between Untouchables, Robin Hood and Dances with Wolves, you’re not going to lose out. Bodyguard is really good too. One movie not on the list that I really love, but caution that it’s a hard watch is JFK. Maybe in November.

Jeff I.

Really no need for the director's cut for DWW. It kills the pacing of an already slow-paced movie and Coster himself has said that the three hour theatrical version is the one he would prefer people to see.

Rey

Id like to give a shout out to JFK as well , he did a hell of a performance there

Bobby Cowart

Honestly though I think you need to watch Dances with Wolves even if it don't win the pole you don't have to even share your reaction it's a very good movie but like I said make sure it's a long version you'll be missing out if you don't see it

Doug

The Untouchables is my favorite on this list, I also like Bull Durham quite a bit. 🙂 Of the Costner films not on the list, I’d probably add in No Way Out and Mr. Brooks. (Mr Brooks is particularly unusual because Costner plays an anti-hero in it which is kind of an interesting change of pace for him!)

Alex Tan

(URGENT TO ADDIE) Since Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) is third in this poll, I HIGHLY recommend the Extended Cut of that movie.

Alex Tan

The theatrical cut is the only version available on Prime Video.

Jayson Phillips

The Poastman was always one of my favs, and Waterworld.

Alexander George

My choices out of the listed provided: THE UNTOUCHABLES, DANCES WITH WOLVES, OPEN RANGE & BULL DURHAM... any one of those 4 is a good watch... Best one out of all of them is the one Costner won Best Director for ... Dances With Wolves.

Bobby Cowart

Well honestly I got it on the Roku Channel with my fire stick and I got it on DVD it's the only version I watch

Bobby Cowart

Actually I just checked and the long version is 3 hours maybe a little bit longer you would be missing out if you don't watch this movie

Casey Ryback

Dances and then the Postman before we riot

MrAustincummings

Definitely the Untouchables, but um... Waterworld.

justin swan

im gonna asume youve never watch Dances with Wolves ;)

justin swan

I believe its far superior to the untouchables and i believe addie will enjoy it way more tbh

Philip Davetas

That's one of those movies I've started a bunch of times but never finished it for one reason or another.

JAKH

"Mr. Brooks" (2008) "A Perfect World" (1993) directed by Clint Eastwood

Gremlin8723

While true, they have also become cult classics

Sean

Untouchables is top notch. No Way Out isn’t on the list but it’s also great.

Alex Tan

...and Waterworld has a live show at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Alex Tan

I second Waterworld (1995). #WaterworldForAddieCounts

AniLunchbox

OMG I forgot about 'Mr. Brooks' (2007) !! And 'Waterworld' (1995) The Postman (1997) Criminal (2016) Thirteen Days (2000) - Is a great Cold War Cuban Missile crisis history starting point The Highwaymen (2019)

Dave M.

Kevin Costner is exactly 30 years older than me. We share the same birthday.

james repka

These are all good! Bull Durham (IMHO) is the best sports movie of all time and was written by former minor league player Ron Shelton. He and Costner also collaborated on Tin Cup, a great little movie about a down-and-out golf pro which is loads of fun, and (again IMHO) the only positive argument for the existence of the game. I also second The Postman, and admit that I can't watch the brilliant Thirteen Days without breaking into tears at the end.

JAKH

+1 each for "Thirteen Days" and "The Highwaymen"

sarCC

Bull Durham is terrific and one of Costner's most natural and winning performances. It's also one of the best written comedies and has one of Susan Sarandon's very best roles.
