Happy Monday, Addie. I'm so glad that you're continuing The Last of Us. Can't wait to binge this show. BTW, nice long-sleeve shirt.

Happy Monday, Addie! I hope that you had a great weekend. 😊 So excited that you're going to be watching this as it comes out every week. I've already watched the episode. However, I'm definitely going to be re-watching it with your reaction. No spoilers, but I will say that I'm already liking the new cast members. And Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey are still fantastic as Joel and Ellie. Have a great day today! 😊

I already played the games so I know what's going to happen. But I don't think I'll like this show much. Let's see how much they changed.

Baldemort

incoming all the people who will hate this show because its not an exact 1 to 1 copy of the game.

Gabriel Luna is finally part of the main cast. This means he’ll have a bigger role this time around. I think it’s only fitting that Ellie is 19 now. She’s now a little more closer to the age of her actor Bella Ramsey who was 20 at the time of filming.

Speaking of Pedro Pascal, I also suggest The Great Wall (2016), Kingsman: The Golden Circle (2017, but watch Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) first), The Equalizer 2 (2018, but watch The Equalizer (2014) first), The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022), and Gladiator II (2024). #MorePedroPascalForAddieCounts

...and speaking of Isabela Merced, who plays Dina, I also suggest Sicario: Day of the Soldado (2018), Instant Family (2018), Alien: Romulus (2024), and the upcoming Superman (2025). #MoreIsabelaMercedForAddieCounts

Here's hoping you don't have the same copyright troubles with this season as you did with the first. 🤞

"I saved her" I think that Joel is trying to justify killing Marlene and lying to Ellie. Her resentment towards him isn't about teenage rebellion, she doesn't trust him like before. He would rather have her alive and mad at him rather than losing another child. I love the cast for this second season! Next week I get to watch the next episode when it's posted.

Pedro Pascal did such a phenomenal job in that scene. Just before he delivers that line, there is the obvious emotion of almost breaking. He's about to confess. But then the realization sets in. If he confesses here, now, other people will know what we know from the end of last season. The SECRET, the thing he didn't tell her: he lied to her about what happened because he not only killed everyone there, including Marlene, but possibly condemned the entire world to never having a cure. You can see, suddenly, his resolve return because he can't confess. He'd instantly become the villain and she just told him she hated him. So, he summarizes. "I saved her." (I've kept spoilerish game content and context out of this because we're talking about the show, but yes, fellow gamers I know. I know.)

Having never played the game, I'm enjoying this show a lot more than I thought I would. I suppose people have to bend reality a little to grasp the little things like 90 pound Ellie taking down a 200+ man. Just can't happen in reality, but I digress. lol
