Here's the full length reaction to The NeverEnding Story! I loved the themes in this so much! I feel like this movie probably helped a lot of kids that were going through similar situations as Bastian, but this movie probably traumatized a bunch of kids as well hahaha. Enjoy!

Happy Wednesday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed The NeverEnding Story (1984). I'm gonna watch it when I get my snap-cased DVD copy tomorrow. See you on Friday for Conan The Barbarian (1982). I'm a little worried for you about that movie.

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 This was one of my favorite movies growing up, and it still is. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening with tissues on hand. Have a great day today! 😊

When will it be posted on YouTube?

Welp, let's cry over this horse, shall we?

Hi Addie, I know this is a hot take but 'The Never-ending Story' isn't a very good film. However, with that being said, the practical and special effects work still holds up today. Noah Hathaway as Atreyu is a good protagonist and yes, that Artax scene. Apparently, the author hated the film when it came out. The theme is catchy but you will either love it or hate it. Anyways, I can't wait for your reaction to 'Conan the Barbarian' 1982 Addie! I love that film and the character! It was Arnold's break out role.

Yes this is one of those moments that made Gen Xers a traumatized mess

I have always liked the "strong hands" scene. That was well done.

I’ve never seen this movie stoned… that’s about to change.

This one’s a mixed bag for me. 🤷‍♂️ On the plus side, the puppet designs are great and the Rockbiter and Luck Dragon characters are fun, as is the wall break call out to the audience watching the kid when he was being bullied. On the other hand, I hate to say it, but the horse was probably the best actor, the line dubbing was pretty terrible. Also for a movie about telling a story it seems like they didn’t learn the lesson of “show, don’t tell”, it felt like a lot of the movie is just exposition. So, probably 5/10 for me. It’s ok, I think I liked Labyrinth a little better though. 🤷‍♂️ P.S. I’m sure this was just me, but when the kid is flying across the countryside on the dragon for a long time it just reminded me of that really long scene in 2001 where Dave is flying across landscapes in the wormhole, except of course Dave looked like he was totally tripping balls on his magical journey! 😄 P.P.S. Shout out to Simon and Simon as the Dad. Now I have go rewatch The Greatest Moment In Television History with Adam Scott. P.P.P.S The theme song is fun too, and I found a couple of cool metal covers of it on Youtube. 🤘

I know why the author hated it, it’s only half the story and they tacked on a cheesy ending and a message about believing in yourself, but it’s still an incredible masterpiece. I don’t think authors are the best judges of other people’s interpretations of their work but looking back at the last 40 years there are very few kids’ movies of this quality.

I see what you did there ;)

I’ve got a heart of stone, even when I was a little kid, but that damn horse scene even got me feeling terrible 😂 Catchy song made up for it, though 🎶

So I just realized the horse is the mother. She must have had a long, slow death. Arteau calls Artax his only friend, and Sebestian clearly has no friends now. The grief, the confusion, begging her not to go, getting angry at being abandoned as she slowly fades away, the helplessness at just being able to watch and be unable to save her.
