Happy Wednesday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed Major League (1989). I'm gonna watch this at a later time.

Tom W.

I was working in a movie theater when this was new. I've seen the credits hundreds of times.

Randee Carreno

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 This is such a fun baseball movie. And one of my favorite Charlie Sheen films. This one is always a must-watch whenever it's on tv. I very highly recommend the 1994 sequel "Major League 2" and the 1984 baseball movie "The Natural". Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day today! 😊

Addie so, the announcer "Harry Doyle" was played by Bob Uecker who was a career baseball announcer for the MLB, he actually passed away this year and his voice is just iconic in the baseball scene. they are renaming a whole stadium after him

Philip Davetas

After this you can watch you can watch TES LASSO. And if you try the soccer show box of tissues at the ready.

Ian Forbes

Addie, per Google: The fastest pitch ever recorded in Major League Baseball history is 105.8 mph and was thrown by Aroldis Chapman on September 24, 2010, while playing for the Cincinnati Reds against the San Diego Padres … and in 2024 the average fastball in the MLB was just over 94mph. Radar tech wasn’t as accurate back in 1989 when this movie came out and the Google AI overlord says average fastball then was likely 88-89 mph.

Lanny Stanfield

RIP Bob Uecker. Such a fun presence. If you get time, try looking on YouTube for old beer commercials he did in the 80s.

A) I highly recommend Ted Lasso as a sports show / movie B) I think people tend to enjoy this movie no matter what but, as a fairly big baseball fan there is a lot here that caters to people that know / understand the sport which leads to its beloved stature.

Love this movie! Check our Everybody Wants Some. Same director as Dazed and Confused. Its a College Baseball Team's first 3 days at school in 1980

Cliff Adams

Don't forget Hayden "Sidd" Finch.

Julian San

I’ve watched this movie a bunch of times but it never occurred to me that Charlie Sheen and Tom Berenger costarred together a couple of years prior in Platoon, playing completely different characters (which goes without saying).

Kawaii Leonard

If you're in the mood for something similar with Charlie Sheen, check out Hot Shots and Hot Shots Part deux. They are highly entertaining.

I am a horrible person. I forgot about Cerano and the snakes in this movie, but I had to laugh at the sudden change in your body language. I'm sorry. I'm glad you liked this one. I continue to hope "The Replacements" will eventually win one of the sports polls. Or "Mystery, Alaska." But no matter what comes next, I'm looking forward to it. I know it's only the middle of the week, but I'm also gonna wish you a great weekend now, while I'm here.

Not bad, fun movie with a solid cast. 🙂 Even though he's not a main character, Bob Uecker has some of my favorite bits. So yeah, like Addie says at the end, it's not my favorite baseball film or anything, but it's a good time. 👍 (And, yep, #Thor's_Mom_is_a_Knockout . 😉)

Joe Blankenship

Have you seen the "Fastball" documentary? Pretty interesting how they tried to determine pitch speed before radar.

Joe Blankenship

One of my favorites. This and Blues Brothers always remind me of watching movies with my dad. If we were flipping through channels and Major League was on, we were watching it.

Ian Forbes

Interesting, I’ll have to check that out, thanks!

Luis Fernandez

A couple ok-but-not-great baseball movies to consider checking out if you are in the mood for an easy watch: Mr. Baseball (1992) with Tom Selleck, and Mr. 3000 (2004) with Bernie Mac.

zynjams

there were lite beer endorsements everywhere, Bob Eucker made a bunch of funny commercials for lite beer by miller.

Ben Joyce of the Angels pitched a ball 105.5 mph in 2024

Jason Pratt

Here to hop on the Replacements bandwagon!!!

This has always been a fun watch. and I never get tired of it.
