Here's the full length reaction to Goldfinger! I think this has been my favorite of the Sean Connery Bond movies so far! Goldfinger is such a fun villain, and the name "P*ssy Galore" definitely gave me a good giggle. Bond's interaction with Q when he's explaining the gadgets is so great. Enjoy!

Happy Friday, Addie. I'm so glad that you enjoyed Goldfinger (1964) as your favorite Sean Connery James Bond movie. Now I got a good laugh from the fact that you got a good giggle from the name "P*ssy Galore".

This was filmed in my home state!

Happy "James Bond" Friday, Addie! 😊 This is another one of my favorite Sean Connery as 007 films. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. Have a great day & weekend! 😊

Hey addie, Now you know where Austin Powers "Goldmember" comes from and "Alotta Fagina" from Austin powers 1 comes from 😂🤣😂

Hi Addie, 'Goldfinger' is the best of the Connery films and helped establish Bond as a British icon and 007 as a bankable franchise. Ian Fleming loved golfing and in real life, prolific actor and WW2 veteran Christopher Lee was Fleming's step-cousin and according to some sources inspired Fleming to create Bond, also they played golf together a lot. The character of Jill Masterson played by the gorgeous Shirley Eaton is the definition of the Bond Girl, in my opinion. The film is also famous for Bond's Rolex Submariner, I forgot what reference number it is but that 2 seconds of screen time made the watch a legend. Also, 'Goldfinger', although the not the first, was in my opinion the film that establish the Bond villain henchman with Oddjob.

Q is quite the scene stealer, isn’t he?

Goldfinger's voice was dubbed by another actor.

Great reaction! Definitely at or near the top of my lists. The line "you returning to England?" was probably an inside reference to the TV show Honor Blackman (who played Pussy Galore) left to be in this movie.. The Avengers. She played "Cathy Gale" in that 60s British TV Show. And on the TV show, they returned the favor ... but how they did it would be a spoiler :D. She was replaced on the TV show by Diana Rigg, who after Diana left the show was also in a later James Bond movie

After Goldfinger, they become super spy movies!

Lanny Stanfield

It's interesting that a spoof of a bond movie (Austin Powers) had a less raunchy version of a "Bond girl" (Alotta Fagina).

Billy Dancel

If you remember in Quantum of Solace there was a girl who was drowned in oil and left in Bond's hotel room. That was a nod to the "Midas touch" scene where Jill is covered in gold.

Goldfinger is a great Bond film and he is a great villain along with Oddjob. it was great watching a long with your reaction, can not wait for the next Bond. I like From Russia with Love more then this one, but this one is great also. No argument with anyone who likes this one more.

It was more blatant in the book and toned down for the 1960's movie audience, but Pussy Galore was able to resist Bond's charms because she was a lesbian (along with all of the other pilots in her "Flying Circus"). After enough exposure to Bond, she discovers that she is actually bi, not just les. She changed sides because while she was OK with using knock-out gas on the base, she was not OK with killing everyone with nerve gas and then detonating a fission bomb.

You're correct that "skin suffocation" is not a real thing, but at the time people THOUGHT it was a real thing. They got away with the name "Pussy Galore" -- despite the word having the same meaning then as now -- because "pussy" could also be used as a nickname/term of endearment in real life. Like how "Dick" can be a nickname for "Richard". Everybody is going to giggle if you name a character "Dick S. Huge", and they're going to know exactly what you mean, but technically speaking it could be a "real" name. Nobody was fooled here for a second, and they had to fight to get the name past censors, but there was the fig-leaf cover. Everybody is going to have their own opinions as to which Bond film is The Best, but what's not up for debate is that this one cemented the pop-culture concept of what James Bond IS. References and parodies almost always include bits from this film, and it lay down the formula which many of the later films duplicated.
