You used the perfect word to describe these first three episodes: icky. I love the way this season unfolds, and the way it starts off so icky and awkward and uncomfortable really elevates the rest of the episodes. Can't wait for you to travel to Amsterdam soon!

I love the little bit where the theme song starts up then immediately stops when Collin accidentally hits something with his car. 😄

The Dude Abides

The song at the beginning is Out of my Head by Fastball, great late 90’s alternative rock band. This and the song The Way were their two big hits.

Loved that Zava showed up at the restaurant. The show does an interesting job balancing his selfishness and selflessness. It looks like they added more of the actors into the opening credits - that is why the names are going by a bit faster (and why the coloring may be off)

Crimson Ace

Zava is modeled after Zlatan Ibrahimovic, a retired Swedish striker who loved praising himself in 3rd person... but scored a ton of goals and got results for every team he was on. As a prime example, he was hired by Major League Soccer's LA Galaxy in 2018. His first game with the club was against their biggest rival, and he entered the game late, down 2-3. I wasn't sure what the best point in time was to say this, but I don't enjoy this season as much as 1 or 2. There's still things to enjoy so it's not a disaster or anything, but I think the quality of the writing for season 3 takes a noticeable dip. This is the first episode I can talk about, without really spoiling any future episodes. So here goes: I've never really known how to feel about the choice for Michelle's new boyfriend to be her's and Ted's former marriage counsellor. The moment, in 1x5, where Ted lets go of his marriage & relationship with Michelle is such a powerful scene, and it's a moment of genuine growth for Ted. But I think this revelation somewhat undercuts the power of that moment & of Ted's growth because now it's more about how Michelle was subtly & unethically manipulated into ending her relationship. If they wanted to tell the story of Michelle finding a new romantic partner & Ted still struggling with the end of his marriage, then Michelle's new partner could have been anyone. I'm not sure why the writer's felt it was necessary to make Michelle's new boyfriend their former marriage counsellor.

As far as colors being muted, I think it depends on what platform you watch it on. I've noticed this with different shows on Roku, Xbox and PlayStation. Even shows like TWISTED METAL will have different color ranges on Roku than on Xbox. I'll watch SNL on Roku and the colors are muted. I haven't researched this enough on why that is.
