Hi Addie, first time here (though I am a long time YT sub)! Really looking forward to following your journey in this show (& hopefully universe!) This episode is so wonderfully orchestrated. The intervention scene is brilliant and really adds an emotional angle that the show hadn't quite established until now. Walt could've used the money to get treatment behind his family's back but he never even looked into treatment. He'd accepted the fact that he was going to die. Yet seeing the distress his diagnosis is putting Skyler under (the cancer book being above the baby books in her bedside pile) he decides to get the treatment. So why not accept the charitable offer from his previous business partner? You already kinda hit the nail on its head, as did Hank: it's his pride. He would genuinely rather start an illegal meth distributing business than get free charity from his former company. That definitely says a lot about this man!

How you doing Addie? I’ve watched your reactions to this masterpiece series on YouTube which are top notch. I felt your full reactions should live up to par creating an urgency to join your Patron; before this show gets increasingly intense! This is a very heartfelt episode that gives a full picture of character emotions and I love it! I teared up when I first watched it’s premiere WAYYYYY BACKKKK in 2008 😬 But still holds up 18 years later 🥲
