Oh man... this one... this one freaked me out! Literally terrified for almost two and a half hours straight. Be prepared for lots of screams, hiding behind my hands, and a few regrets haha. At least I survived the whole way through! (Barely)

That was a great reaction! Good job making it through. I feel a tiny bit guilty at how much I enjoyed your responses to some of the scenes - especially your jump scares at the title cards 😁, but I do look forward to more adventures with more REAL horror movies.

Congratulations for making it through. You did a great job. Now if you can take this then you can handle the 2019 follow up; Doctor Sleep with Ewan McGregor in the role of Danny all grown up. Definitely should watch it for October. It does have a 3 hour running time though.

I should have watched this a few days ago to celebrate your Anniversary of your victory over The Shining!! I bet, in a year or two, if you were to re-watch this, you would do a lot better than your first time and it would seem like a different movie. I have a feeling you would shoot that idea down in a heartbeat! lol Take care of yourself, Addie!!

I like this movie, but I can't find it scary because the Simpsons ruined that for me. That and to me Jack Nicholson will always be the Joker, so I don't take him quite as serious in movies as I should.

Let's give Addie a round of applause for surviving The Shining (1980).👏👏 Happy Monday. This is one of my favorite horror films, my girlfriend & I like them in general. I even liked seeing this movie featured in Twister (1996). You should definitely check out that movie and Doctor Sleep (2019) as well. BTW, nice turtleneck sweater.

It's by far my top favorite Jack Nicholson films, and one of my favorite Stephen King novels. I very highly recommend the 2019 sequel "Doctor Sleep". Have a great day today! 😊

Thank you for this reaction! I must also support the viewing of "Doctor Sleep". It is an excellent sequel to The Shining, written by Stephen King as well. You will be happy to know, it is more of a thriller than horror. It is no way as scary. In fact, it has a lot in common with an X-Men movie. lol

Yeah, you really dove into the deep end with this one. 😶 It's widely considered one of the most terrifying films of all time, along with the likes of "The Exorcist" and the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (I'll be expecting your reactions to those next year 😏). Even the edited-for-TV version still creeped the hell out of me as a child. I'd definitely agree that the sound design and music selection are the film's true MVP's.

While I don't hate The Shining, I've always considered it overrated, especially as far as being scary goes - it never scared me at all.

“You’re probably all laughing at me”. Yeah we are 😂 honestly I don’t really get horror films that much cause after you see it the first time it looses all the suspense. Still a classic but I don’t see the point in watching them again. When jack chased Danny outside he should have asked him “have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight” 😂 if you know what I mean.
