there is Saturday night live skit where Uncle Billy remembers where the 8000 went. the mob runs to Potters office and beats him to death.

Happy Monday, Addie. I've never seen It's a Wonderful Life (1946), but it looks like a great Christmas movie. I'm definitely gonna watch the movie when I get off work.

This is one of the ones I watch every Christmas. It really does have everything you want in a Christmas classic. I’m so excited to watch Addie watch it, but I’m excited for you too!

Randee Carreno

Happy Monday, Addie! 😊 I have not seen all of this movie. Just bits and pieces of it. So of the most part this'll be a first time watch for me as well. I do know that it's a classic. Definitely looking forward to watching this one. Have a great day today. 😊

OK, so I'll be the first to say it, the actor who plays Potter is legendary stage and screen actor Lionel Barrymore, Drew Barrymore's Great Uncle. Now I'll leave the rest of the "Fun Facts" to someone else. ;)

Zach Faulkner

Yay!! I am excited to watch this when I get home tonight! It's a wonderful life is my favorite Christmas movie and I look forward to it every year!

i just wanted to say: i really admire (among other things) your work ethic -- seeing you put up a new video every couple of days is impressive and appreciated! I hope you give yourself some extra personal time over the holidays, you deserve it

Jim Schmitz

It's a WONDERFUL reaction.

Amazing thing - this movie was a failure when first released, it ended up as a public domain movie, something television stations could run for cheap and they started running it as a Christmas perennial and, for want of a better term, it went viral. It got renewed appreciation over time to the point where you cannot imagine Christmas without it. And honestly, regarding James Stewart, who I adore and love as my favorite actor of the classic era, I cannot recommend movies like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington and The Man Who Shot Liberty Vallance highly enough. If you want Donna Reed in something different, From Here to Eternity will do nicely. But so glad you have been inducted into the Wonderful Life Club and may it continue to be the Christmas lift annually.

Zach Faulkner

You mentioned when Potter offered him the job for $20k a year you weren't sure how much that would be in modern times. 20k in 1946 (when the movie came out) would be the equivalent of $305,000 a a year in 2022
