HEEEEELPPPPPPP! (Just kidding, this question isn't that dramatic) I've heard a lot of requests for the Rogue Cut of X-Men: Days of Future Past. The theatrical cut of Days of Future Past is available with a Disney+ subscription, and the Rogue Cut requires you to either rent or buy this version. I want to be mindful of what is better for the majority of you in a watch-along format, so vote to let me know which version you'd prefer me to watch!

I think it's worth getting the Rogue cut just because you just get more. More of the characters you want to see, more of the story. It's doesn't change the overall story to some grand degree, but it is still the better version IMO

David Gamez

Rogue is better but it doesn’t change the experience either way. I voted for theatrics because I assume that is what most people have access too without additional cost.

Alex Tan

Happy Thursday, Addie. Let's go Rogue. In other words, I'd vote for the Rogue Cut.

Diiirk706

Rogue all the way. Fuck this poll.

Onno Smits

WHY ARE YOU SHOUTING?!

Bryan Fritchie

I've never even seen the rogue cut because I never spent the money to get/rent it. I stick to the YouTube edits anyway (simply for time reasons), so it won't affect me which one you watch.

Patrick Egan

Given that anyone wanting to watch along will also need the Rogue Cut, I'm voting for the theatrical release that is more widely available without a separate purchase. I know a lot of people like the Rogue Cut, but the actual differences in the movie aren't THAT significant.

BND

The theatrical release is fine, the Rogue cut doesn't really add anything that interesting IMO

BHillzebub

Not voting because I'm okay with either. Unfortunately whichever one you chose will upset some people and because it's the internet those people will be very vocal in their attempt to make you feel bad. Just to pre-warn you.

aarswft

Oh God. You mean for these reactions. I thought you meant that's how you watch movies and it hurt my heart.

Fawks

If someone can tell me her preferred vod service I'll send her a code. Rogue's abilities play a small but substantial part in the actual way the film makes sense. And Addie since you like her character already, there's another reason.

Rich

I voted for theatrical because that's the version I own already

Brian Leonard

I won't watch an extended or director's cut for any movie. The only exception would be the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie.

Alex Tan

However, I'm totally fine with whatever wins.

Bryan Fritchie

Lol. Yes, for reactions only. I don't have time to rewatch 2-hour movies for every reaction channel. 😂

DazzMetalStorm

Theatrical cut because its already on Disney plus. Rogue cut will require getting the bluray. Hard to choose really. Perhaps watch the theatrical version first and then Rogue cut after for more context.

Sonny Smith

Which is the cut that turns it into a good movie and which is the one that turns it into a movie that’s not the worst thing I’ve ever seen? If I remember right, I think the theatrical cut leaves so much of the plot out that it becomes borderline nonsensical.

BHillzebub

It's less to do with her preferred service and more to do with what her viewers have access to for syncing.

Tom W.

The theatrical cut is definitely best considering you'll want the maximum number of people to be able to watch along with you. I've never actually heard of the Rogue cut. I doubt it contains much that really affects the story.

Chip MC

Rogue Cut can be rented on Amazon Prime 👍

Chip MC

Just a heads up for the voters, The Rogue Cut can be rented on Amazon Prime and includes almost 20mins extra and the addition of Rogue.

BND

and Lord of the Rings. And Terminator 2.

Kyle Brandon Sanger

IMO, you're not going to miss anything vital in the Rogue Cut.

Chip MC

bro just come over we can watch it at my crib

Lance Li

Despite RC having more content, I think Theatrical is in general much more polished and better-edited. Also, in Rogue Cut, one of the biggest surprises in the Theatrical becomes very predictable. RC also isn't the best when it comes to pacing, some sequences may feel too-long or 'dragged-out', whereas the biggest attraction of Days of Future Past is having a quick and choppy quality to its editing. RC have more content for sure, but I don't think it's the kind of content that the overall story desperately relies on. It is a good supplement. Definitely check out Rogue Cut after Theatrical, maybe even do a reaction.

Tony Sanson

I'll echo what many others are saying: the Rogue Cut is nice and all, but it doesn't change or add anything that would change the Theatrical cut substantially. There are a few alternate scenes, and some side characters get more screen time, but that's about it. Everything plays out the same. So for a first time watch? Go Theatrical as it's more widely available and a damn fine movie on its own. My top favorite X-Men movie actually. And if you have time and are real curious, you can check out the Rogue Cut, either on your own or as a reaction. But for sure Theatrical first. Now...if we were talking Justice League vs the Snyder Cut...it's Snyder Cut all the way. lol

Chip MC

this is a fair assessment. it seems the Rogue Cut is a losing battle at this point. the theatrical is absolutely an awesome movie on its own. days of future past is my fav of the series. if you were to ever revisit it on your own, go with Rogue Cut then.

Steve Mercier

So, this is one of the best X-Men movies either way. The Rogue Cut adds some scenes--you can probably guess concerning whom (or pertaining to whom)--and they're definitely cool; however, the theatrical cut is still a really good movie. And since it's what's available to most people without extra cash involved, I say go that way.

Zack

The rogue cut is the far better version, go with that one for the best experience addie. Ignore the naysayers voting theatrical.

Richard Maurer

LotR and Kingdom of Heaven are my only essential extended movies.

Patrick Egan

The Rogue Cut doesn’t save this movie, it’s still a mess

Richard Maurer

The Snyder cut is definitely better than the theatrical, but that's not saying much since the the theatrical cut is garbage.

Fawks

Very fair. It's crazy the canon version isn't on D+

Richard Maurer

I've seen both versions of XM: DoFP and I don't really think one is that much better than the other. It's not like LotR, where the extra scenes add a lot to the experience.

Pokeysaurus

The entire point of the movie is to retcon the 2nd and 3rd movies of the original trilogy. Kinda sad they had to use up a whole movie AND Peter Dinklage just to get the series right.

Diiirk706

Y'all torrents still Fucking exist, ya Fkn BAYYYYYBIES..........

sarCC

Theatrical as it'll be easier for the most people to watch.

Patrick Egan

Advocating piracy? Bad form, dude.

Diiirk706

It is always. A L W A Y S. Morally correct to screw over/Pirate Streaming Platforms etc.

2026-09-06 15:00 While I think the Rogue cut is a better movie, the theatrical is just easier for people to access & sync without having to pay extra (if they already use Disney+ or another source)

The theatrical flows better in my opinion plus yeah, it's on Dis+

Chip MC

i know plenty of ppl who still torrent (especially outside of the US) bc otherwise they wouldn’t have access to a lot of tv shows and movies regardless of their streaming platform. i myself don’t have much need for torrenting these days but im not about to pass judgement on anyone who does

Naji

The Rogue Cut adds few extra scenes that are unnecessary and really just slow the pace of the movie. It's kind of baffling why they even bothered releasing it.

DazzMetalStorm

Since I'm from the UK. I torrent shows that are on the cw or HBO max, since we don't have that here. I think that's fair

Fawks

I can't imagine the version that makes less sense being the canon version but you're probably right since the X-Men continuity is as F'd as it is.
