Happy Monday, Addie. Happy Gilmore (1996) is my all-time favorite Adam Sandler movie. The funniest scenes for me were when he was in the batting cage getting hit with baseballs, when he was yelling at the golf ball and ultimately cursing at the AT&T Invitational, causing the TV to bleep uncontrollably, and my personal favorite, when he fought Bob Barker at the Pepsi Pro-Am and said to him, "The Price is Wrong, B**ch!".

Speaking of Adam Sandler, I also suggest Airheads (1994), Billy Madison (1995), Bulletproof (1996), The Wedding Singer (1998), The Waterboy (1998), Big Daddy (1999), Little Nicky (2000), Mr. Deeds (2002), Punch-Drunk Love (2002), Anger Management (2003), Spanglish (2004), The Longest Yard (2005), Click (2006), Reign Over Me (2007), You Don't Mess With the Zohan (2007, UNRATED Extended Version), Funny People (2009), Grown-ups (2010), Grown-ups 2 (2013), Just Go With It (2011), Jack and Jill (2011), Blended (2014), Murder Mystery (2019), Murder Mystery 2 (2023), Hubie Halloween (2020, another Halloween movie suggestion), and Hustle (2022). #MoreAdamSandlerForAddieCounts

...and speaking of Ben Stiller, who played Hal L., the orderly, in this movie, I also suggest Reality Bites (1994), The Cable Guy (1996), Mystery Men (1999), Meet the Parents (2000), Meet the Fockers (2004), Little Fockers (2010), Zoolander (2001), Zoolander 2 (2016), DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story (2004), Night at the Museum (2006), Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009), Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb (2014), Tropic Thunder (2008) and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013). #MoreBenStillerForAddieCounts

So, I'm guessing the rest of the week will consist of "Schindler's List" and one of the following: "Deadpool," "Thor: Love and Thunder," or "Spectre"...

Happy Monday, Addie! 😊 This is a great way to start of a Monday. This is 100% one my top favorite Adam Sandler and Carl Weathers movies. Before "Modern Family" and even before this movie Julie Bowen had a 9 episode guest-starring role on the medical drama "ER" during season 5. My favorite favorite scene in this movie will forever be the Bob Barker scene. Poor Happy was trying to keep his temper in check because of the heckler and Bob Barker. LOL! Another one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies that I very highly recommend is the 1994 movie "Airheads" which also stars Academy Award Winning Actor Brendan Fraser. Have a great day today! 😊

An underrated film that features *both* Sandler and Stiller as leads: Noah Baumbach's "The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)" -- where they play brothers, in fact. Other Baumbach/Stiller collabotations: "Greenberg" and "While We're Young." He also has a significant supporting role in Wes Anderson's "The Royal Tenenbaums," and Sandler has a noteworthy supporting role in Jason Reitman's "Men, Women and Children."

2026-10-13 17:00 Here's the Red-Hooded Sweatshirt sketch from SNL. This will help cheer you up after watching Schindler's List (1993). It's one of the comedy pieces that helped cheer up Steven Spielberg and his cast & crew during filming, according to Adam Sandler himself, on The Howard Stern Show. Link: https://youtu.be/81WwGlbVcBg

Beverly Hills cop won that poll. I dont hate Happy Gilmore but how'd we wind up with that instead of BHC? Which is really more of a comedy "classic" IMO.

2026-10-13 17:00 And hopefully, we get a Memorial Day themed poll with Full Metal Jacket (1987), Crimson Tide (1995), Armageddon (1998), The Patriot (2000), Pearl Harbor (2001), Jarhead (2005) & Hacksaw Ridge (2016).

In case you missed it, the full length reaction to Beverly Hills Cop was posted last week, and the YT edit was posted today. When two choices are so close in the polls (Happy Gilmore was winning the poll for a while), sometimes I'll react to both.

Getoff Mylawn

Oh my gosh! I totally did miss that! Thank you for letting me know! This is a win/win for us as theyre both great comedies so getting to see your reactions to both is terrific. Thank you for all the wonderful content, Addie!

Mine too, another reason why I love this movie. And speaking of Steve Buscemi, who was also in Airheads (1994), I also suggest Con Air (1997), Armageddon (1998), G-Force (2009) (all three films produced by Jerry Bruckheimer), Billy Madison (1995), Big Daddy (1999), Mr. Deeds (2002), Grown Ups (2010), Grown Ups 2 (2013), Hubie Halloween (2020, for Halloween) (the latter six also have Adam Sandler in them) & Reservoir Dogs (1992).

Everyone hates Shooter, but the real villain in this movie, Hal L., never gets his. Though I do understand there was a deleted scene where Happy finds out what he's doing when he goes to pick up his grandmother, and throws him out a window.

I loved Adam Sandler movies, However, I just couldnt finish Happy Gilmore, Maybe the humor was alright when I was younger. but now I must be an old curmudgeon because to me this movie is awful. and I used to really like it.

John A

Yup that deleted scene isn't canon since Hal is in Hubie Halloween lmao

John A

Yeah it's definitely you

Kane Is Able

Hal went on to open Globo Gym. He eventually got his.

I love Steve Buscemi's character in "Armageddon". And I didn't realize how many more movies he was in with Adam Sandler other than "Airheads". And I think he had a small part in "The Wedding Singer" also with Adam Sandler. 😊

I've personally never been a fan of these dumb Adam Sandler vehicles. I prefer more sophisticated comedy myself (or at least 'smart-dumb' over 'dumb-dumb'). "The Wedding Singer" was pleasant enough, but not something I'd go back to if I had a choice. Give me "Punch-Drunk Love;" "Spanglish;" "Men, Women and Children;" or "The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)" instead.

Just rewatched this for a much needed dose of Happiness. Thanks Addie! 🙏
