I've been getting sooo many Tarantino requests lately, so help me choose what movie to watch next! (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood isn't on this poll because I've already seen it)

Randee Carreno

Happy Thursday, Addie! 😊 All great choices for this poll. I ended up going with "Pulp Fiction" for this one. Have a great day today! 😊

Fawks

You honestly can't go wrong here. But Kill Bill has been one of my favorite movies since it came out. Pulp Fiction, Bastards, and Django are all Oscar winners. Reservoir Dogs is fascinating and genuinely great as his first film made on an indie budget.

carbsix

I'm sooo not a Tarantino fan... 😒

Mark Dahlen

Pulp fiction is iconic and put Q.T on the map!

aarswft

Pulp Fiction is one of those I never understood the hype. I know people love it. Never clicked with me like his other films.

Andre Agog

I'm chuffed to see you dipping a toe in the bloodfilled Tarantino pool. My personal favorite is Inglorious Basterds, but I'm going to vote for Pulp Fiction because that will always be the definitive Tarantino movie.

Ben

Pretty much all good films, im just happy to see the two i was torn between, pulp fiction and inglorious leading at the time of writing, but id be happy to watch along to your reaction to any of them.

Rich

I started at the beginning. Why not run through them all?

Steve J

I feel like Pulp Fiction should just be the default Tarantino introduction. After that pick and choose genre as desired.

Alex Tan

Happy Thursday, Addie. All are great choices but Pulp Fiction (1994) & Inglourious Basterds (2009) got my votes and hopefully they tie each other. BTW, I do hope your'e open to doing a rewatch reaction to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019) soon because I also saw that movie in theaters as well. After several rewatches of that movie, I found myself enjoying it. I even laughed so hard in the ending. I'm also hoping that you'll watch Planet Terror (2007) before Death Proof (2007) because it's part of the Grindhouse Double Feature (2007). I also suggest True Romance (1993, directed by Tony Scott which QT wrote), Desperado (1995, watch El Mariachi (1993) first) & From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) (both D & FDTD are directed by Robert Rodriguez and co-starring QT). #MoreQuentinTarantinoForAddieCounts

Django unchained is my fav on this list. If it don't win, I hope you still watch it at some point. 😎

David Crabtree

Death Proof, Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction are my favorites on this list. I haven't cared for any of Tarantino's films after 2007.

CheshireKat528

Reservoir Dogs (1992) was his directorial debut, if I am not mistaken, so that might be a good place to start 🤷‍♀️ It was made on a pretty low budget, which allows Tarantino’s knack for writing excellent dialogue and character interactions shine brighter, imo anyway. “True Romance” (1993) is another movie that is considered to be part of Tarantino’s catalogue and a personal favorite. He wrote the screenplay for a true Romance and then sold it in order to help fund the production of “Reservoir Dogs”

Luis Fernandez

Love all these, voted for Pulp Fiction. Since QT already has a strike against him because you didn't like Hollywood (I didn't either), I figure if you don't like the next one you see, he'll probably be shelved for a while. If we only get one shot, I think Pulp Fiction has made the biggest cultural impact so my vote has to go there.

Luis Fernandez

QT also wrote the 1994 Oliver Stone film Natural Born Killers. I'm very much in the minority in this regard, but I find that movie to be a very nice love story. I'm mean, ignoring all the killing. Heh.

CheshireKat528

🤣🤣🤣 I can appreciate the positive opinion of the love story in Natural Born Killers, plus there are a couple familiar MCU faces in Natural Born Killers that Addie would appreciate, one of them even sports an Australian accent that may surprise her 🤫🤐 no spoilers about who it is 😜

CheshireKat528

True Romance is an all time favorite of mine, I second any suggestions for Addie to watch it at some point!

Chris

I'm not as into QT as everyone else, but Inglourious Basterds is amazing. Brutal, but awesome 😂 I also think Hateful 8 is underrated

Bryan Fritchie

I'm not a Tarantino fan, and not actually interested in any of these. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Joe Mallard

Django and Inglorious are my favorite. Kill Bill is great too, not really much of a fan of the rest.

Alex Tan

Speaking of Tony Scott, who directed True Romance (1993), I also suggest The Hunger (1985), Revenge (1990), Days of Thunder (1990), The Last Boy Scout (1991), Crimson Tide (1995), The Fan (1996), Enemy of the State (1998), Spy Game (2001), Man on Fire (2004), Domino (2005), Deja Vu (2006), The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 (2009) & Unstoppable (2010). #MoreTonyScottForAddieCounts

Alex Tan

I second that.

Alex Tan

BTW, there's an LOTR face in Crimson Tide (1995) that she'll recognize.

Steve Mercier

If you want to start at the start, Reservoir Dogs is your flick...but I think (assuming Tarantino winds up being for you) Pulp Fiction will be the one to spark your interest the quickest...

Jonathan D

What was Quentin Jerome Tarantino #1 grossing movie? I think it was Inglorious Basterds.

Pokeysaurus

Just as a suggestion, there's a saying that goes, "If everything is highlighted, then nothing is highlighted." In other words, making 2-3 suggestions is impactful, but more than that the message gets diluted.

Todd the Evil Overlord

Have you already done from Dusk till Dawn? And, does his work with Robert Rodriguez count?

Chip MC

That one was directed by Robert Rodriguez, so i would exclude it from QT’s filmography.

Chip MC

I would start with Inglourious Basterds or Kill Bill as an intro to QT. Pulp Fiction is must-watch (and maybe my fav), but it could be better to ease into that one.

Alex Tan

I would actually include QT's work with Robert Rodriguez because love to see Addie watch Desperado (1995) & From Dusk Till Dawn (1996) for a movie that QT co-starred in. IMO, those two DO count as QT movies, from an acting standpoint.

Alex Tan

No matter how many suggestions are made, I still think it's impactful because it'll help boost Addie's recommendation list.

Chip MC

btw, thanks for doing this poll addie.

Mr. Writhms

There is a huge contrast between the movie you've seen-- and didn't like ("Once Upon A Time In Hollywood") and "Kill Bill". I would say, Kill Bill is the one to entice you see more of Tarantino. But of course the votes have the last word. [bleeped expletive]

silverarrow06

Voted for "Django Unchained", please please watch it sometimes. Besides "Pulp Fiction", this is the best movie Tarantino made so far. I don't like "Inglorious Basterds" that much, despite a marvelous performance of Christoph Waltz as "Col. Hans Landa" and "Kill Bill" was alright, but I never felt the desire to watch it again. 🙂

Alex Ch

Inglorious bastards really feels more like OATIH to me. - all part of his alternate history cycle. I’d love for Pulp Fiction to win the vote if anyone’s still deciding.

silverarrow06

I know what you mean, I felt the same way. While he just fit perfectly to the character of "Col. Hans Landa", the "Dr. King Schulz" was written especially with him and his kind of acting in mind. I know Waltz from his pre-Tarantino years here in Germany, and he has this very unique and easily recognizable way of acting. He approaches most of his characters this way. 🤔 Nonetheless, both roles were outstanding performances and deserved their oscars. 🙂

QuiGon_Jim

Django and The Hateful Eight are my favourite on that list, but I prefer the latter.

Byrd N. Hand

I'm shocked "The Hateful Eight" got so few votes. I was expecting "Jackie Brown" and "Death Proof" to not fare well (as usual; the former definitely deserves more love, though), but not that one, too. 🤷‍♂ I suppose it's a moot point, since it's probably not a good starting point for Tarantino novices.
