Cassie on Popcorn in Bed watched Prey, having only seen the first Predator movie and really enjoyed it. I don’t think it’s necessary at all to watch any others beforehand. You may miss an Easter egg or two, but those are only really there for the fans, and since you didn’t love the first one, I think it’s more then fine to skip right to Prey.

PHILLIP CORNISH

Only getting little flashes of notifcations (Internet bad in the north sea) but looking forward to top content on my return. 😀

Alex Tan

Happy Sunday, Addie. Thank you so much for answering my Q&A questions. The unanswered ones will be saved for next month, along with newer ones.

Alex Tan

Gran Turismo (2023) was awesome in IMAX and I would definitely love to see you react to that movie when it comes out on streaming. My girlfriend & I enjoyed seeing a special sneak preview screening of the movie, two weeks ago. When I asked her about how it compared to Uncharted (2022), she said that she liked GT better. Stay tuned for a follow-up question about Barbie (2023) next month, since you did mention that the GT trailer played before that movie.

Alex Tan

Adam Sandler comedies are very fun to watch and I would love to see you watch Airheads (1994), Billy Madison (1995), The Wedding Singer (1998), The Waterboy (1998), Big Daddy (1999), Little Nicky (2000), Mr. Deeds (2002), Punch-Drunk Love (2002), Anger Management (2003), Spanglish (2004), The Longest Yard (2005), Click (2006), You Don't Mess With the Zohan (2007, UNRATED Extended Version), Funny People (2009), Grown-ups (2010), Grown-ups 2 (2013), Just Go With It (2011), Jack and Jill (2011), Blended (2014), Murder Mystery (2019), Murder Mystery 2 (2023), Hubie Halloween (2020, another Halloween movie suggestion), and Hustle (2022). BTW, Reign Over Me (2007) is more of a dramatic role of his. #MoreAdamSandlerForAddieCounts *UPDATE AS OF 8/28/2023: I'll also throw in the coming-of-age film You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah (2023), also with Idina Menzel, who also co-starred with Sandler in Uncut Gems (2019), and Sandler's daughters, Sadie and Sunny, are in it too.

Alex Tan

I'm ok with you not watching Jaws 2 (1978). Although it's the better one of the three Jaws sequels, the original movie, Jaws (1975), is definitely the best one. Speaking of Justin Chatwin, I also suggest War of the Worlds (2005) with Tom Cruise and directed by Steven Spielberg. My all-time favorite Addie jump scare that terrified you will always be when Jeremy grabbed your shoulder near the end of your reaction to Jurassic Park (1993). You REALLY weren't expecting that. My favorite Addie snake scare was in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) when they opened the Well of Souls. In the YT cut, you put out a disclaimer that said "WARNING! I hate snakes. Like... a lot!" The moment Indy dropped his torch into the well, you had your hands on your head and cried out "MOTHER-OF-PEARL, THOSE ARE SNAKES!" and that was the true snake scene that REALLY made you squirm. Another snake moment that made you squirm was in The Empire Strikes Back (1980), there were snakes on the planet Dagobah, where Yoda lives, and there were snakes in his hut. The moment Luke swiped one away to grab a bowl as Yoda fed him, you were totally freaking out and shivering in fear.

Happy Sunday, Addie and to Ollie as well! 😊🐶 Thanks for another great monthly Q&A. And loved the appearance from Ollie in this video. Have a great rest of the day and weekend! 😊

20:35 I am a Predator franchise fan and found Prey to be absolutely terrible. I would say you don't need to see any of the previous movies, especially if you didn't really enjoy the first.

Alex Tan

I asked about the pronounciation of the word "gross" because some people pronounce it with two, potentially because of their valspeak. Another comedy film series that I would love to see you watch soon is Meet the Parents (2000) and its sequel, Meet the Fockers (2004). Only Iron Man (2008) was the older MCU movie that did add aspect ratio shifts in IMAX Enhanced. It was re-released in IMAX as part of the Marvel Stud10s 10th Anniversary Film Festival. I saw the IMAX 3D re-release of Doctor Strange (2016) at the time. The IMAX aspect ratio shifts are mostly for their later movies beginning with Phase 3 onwards, although it was first utilized in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). The IMAX Enhanced feature was added to Disney+ in November 2021. I think this feature is pretty cool because it creates that fun feeling because when the action ramps up, the aspect ratio opens up as a result.

Hey there! 🙂 Thank you for another great Q&A. Hearing you talking about a TV-Show poll makes me a bit nervous. 😅😊 Yes, "Ted Lasso" is that great, but it has 3 seasons and would take a while to watch. "Arcane", "Chernobyl", "The Last Of Us" (I know you already watched it, but it just belongs into this list 😉) or "Wednesday" are also THAT great shows in their respective field and have only one season (for now). But please, please don't let them compete against each other, I wouldn't know which one to choose... 🙈🙈 Have good day and a good next week! 🙂

Mr. Writhms

Addie, thanks for answering my Westerns question! Haha… Don’t worry about having no interest in old westerns. I feel the same way. My only interest in older westerns are the ones starring and directed by Clint Eastwood. There are many modern westerns I’m sure you will like though. To name a few: “The Magnificent 7” (2016 remake), with Denzel Washington and Chris Pratt “3:10 To Yuma” (2007 remake) with Christian Bale “True Grit” (2010 remake) with Matt Damon, Hailee Steinfeld, and Jeff Bridges Quentin Tarantino made 2 westerns: “Django Unchained” (2012) and “The Hateful Eight”(2015) “Cowboys and Aliens” (2011) is a sci-fi action/western, starring Harrison Ford and Daniel Craig. “Bone Tomahawk” (2016) is a rare mix of western and horror, starring Kurt Russell. It’s pretty disturbing in the 3rd act. Beware. "Shanghai Noon" (2000) is a western/comedy with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson.

Randolph Tirazona

😃 Addie!!! 😃 😃 Ollie!!! 😃 We need more Ollie!!!

Alex Tan

I second Wednesday for Halloween.

Mr. Writhms

Oh I meant to mention: Before watching the "Ahsoka" series, at least watch the Clone Wars movie, "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" (2008). It has her origin to the Star Wars universe, how she met Anakin, etc. It's not a MUST but it would broaden your understanding of the character.

Alex Tan

Addie Addicts or Counters could work.

Alex Tan

Yes, please. That's one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies.

Trembling Colors

Man, the LOTR score music seems to be one of the most copyright struck things on Youtube. Several channels have had to do what you did when it comes to those movies.

Addie Counts

The plan with the poll is to focus on shows with only one season for now (there are so many one season shows that I want to check out before diving into shows that would take me months to finish)! I might throw in a couple of poll options that have multiple seasons (shows like Ted Lasso that I've been recommended many many times) but only commit to the first season for now :)

Randolph Tirazona

It's funny and light hearted! Definitely one of my favies too!

Cole Jennett

You could always put Ted Lasso season 1 on to the poll, and then make it win another poll to get season 2 watched. It is absolutely the best show you could watch, even just for your enjoyment. There’s literally no chance you wouldn’t love it. Having said that, I would vote Firefly😂

Chip MC

You can jump straight into Prey. I didn't see the sequels till after Prey and it was more than fine.

Alex Tan

I second all of these. Addie's gonna enjoy them all, especially The Magnificent Seven (2016) & Cowboys and Aliens (2011).

Billy Dancel

Beginning with Ollie is a great start! Keeping your schedule private is a good idea. 1.. it keeps us guessing as to what’s coming. 2.. if any accidents or trouble comes up you don’t have to be stuck by a deadline. Fandom… The community that Counts. Modern western.. The Quick and the Dead (1995) 3:10 to Yuma (2007)Tombstone (1993) Ahsoka will be worth the wait. Reaction Room is another channel that includes you. LOTR muted. Boo. Thanks for the explanation. It’s nice to hear from the source. You may want to watch Predator 2 on your own and then react to Prey. I am today years old finding out that you already watched I Am Groot. You just didn’t post on YT. You watched before I became a Patreon follower. Jump scares… the second JS from Hot Fuzz is one of my favorites. Thank you for spending time with us and sharing your answers. Take care of yourself, Addie!! Thanks for the visit, Ollie!!

silverarrow06

Everything you said about "Ted Lasso" is true, but the same goes for the other shows I mentioned, especially "Arcane". 🥰 (I know I'm annoing with my praise, it just is such a good show! 🫠😅🙈) And it is impossible to not like "Firefly" ....🙃🙂

silverarrow06

"Wednesday" for Halloween is a great idea! 🧙🧛‍♀️🧟‍♂️😄

silverarrow06

Most of them are great westerns, the only one I don't like in this list is "Cowboys & Aliens". A great Harrison Ford alone is no guarantee for a good movie. And there are some old westerns, who definitely still work today, like "High Noon" or "Once Upon A Time In The West" or the original "Django" (which has nothing to do with Tarantinos movie, he just borrowed the name of the main character and had the original Django actor Franco Nero for a short cameo 😊). For example "High Noon": This movie is such an intouchable classic, that nobody tried to do a remake. Sure you could put todays superstars in it or colorize it, but you simply can't make it better. 🙂🤠

Chip MC

oh actually i had seen Predators. rewatched it last year and i liked that one a lot. The Predator was not as good.

Luis Fernandez

For your fandom name, I'll put forth, "Group of people who enjoy watching Addie react to movies and are also pleased when there's a guest appearance by Ollie", or "The G'Ollies" for short. For modern Westerns, I'll recommend: Modern Classics: Unforgiven (1992), Tombstone (1993), No Country for Old Men (2007) (more Western-Noir that straight Western) Movies I think will appeal to Addie: Open Range (2003) (there's a bit of a love story there), Hidalgo (2004) (more Western-adjacent than Western) Solid Movies: The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (2006), Appaloosa (2008), True Grit (2010), The Hateful Eight (2015)

silverarrow06

You're right, that is a great classic Western to step into the genre! 😃

Mr. Writhms

Blazing Saddles is more of a comedy spoof of Westerns.

Luis Fernandez

"Blazing Saddles" would make for a great reaction! I'll add "Three Amigos!" to the Western Comedy category.

Alex Tan

I second both Blazing Saddles (1974) & ¡Three Amigos! (1986).

Alex Tan

You're exactly right. To be honest, none of the sequels came close to the original Jaws (1975).

Billy Dancel

Community.... The Addieventurers!!

Travis Ballard

3:10 to Yuma and Hostiles are both excellent

Alex Tan

(From two months later) There's an upcoming two-part modern Western called Horizon: An American Story (2024) with Kevin Costner. Chapter One comes out in June 2024, Chapter Two comes out in August 2024.
