Here's the full length reaction to Serenity! We finally made it. This. Movie. WRECKED ME! I knew it would be an emotional ride, but I wasn't prepared for this! I feel like this movie wrapped up everything as best as it could, but I still wish we could've gotten more seasons of the show. Enjoy!

Serenity! I've been waiting years for this.

Cole Jennett

Definitely have to take the bad with the good on this one. So great, glad you got to enjoy these wonderful characters😊

Patrick Egan

I knew this movie would destroy you and that you’d love it anyway, can’t wait to watch your reaction when I get home!

Alex Tan

Let's give Addie a round of applause for completing the ENTIRE Firefly saga. 👏👏 Happy Wednesday. I plan on watching Firefly & Serenity in November, if permitting. BTW, you know it's gonna be good when the Universal logo transitions to an apocalyptic earth.

Randee Carreno

Happy Wednesday, Addie! 😊 We made it to the "Serenity" movie. As with "Firefly" it's been quite a while since I've watched this movie. Definitely looking forward to watching this reaction later this evening. For another fantastic Joss Whedon created show I very highly recommend "Buffy, the Vampire Slayer" and it's spin-off show "Angel". Have a great day today! 😊

Thomas Yanez

Now that you've watched this, know that there are canon (Joss Whedon approved and contributed) comics that cover Shepherd Book's backstory.

Thomas Yanez

I love the "one shot" (there were two) introduction to the crew and pretty much the whole ship.

Phil Stubblefield

Yes! I've been waiting *very* impatiently for the past week and a half... Thanks for watching _Firefly_ and _Serenity_, Addie! 😁 We knew that you would both love the movie and hate a certain plot twist! I can't wait to finish my work day so that I can relax and enjoy this full-length reaction with you!

Phil Stubblefield

Dude, spoiler alerts! Some of us haven't yet read the printed material. I have several of the graphic novels sitting on my bookshelf, and I started one during our last vacation, but I haven't yet finished...

LightsCameraJake

Take my love take my land take me to where I can not stand 🎶

Billy Dancel

Ever since we got the last episodes added to YT I’ve been looping through the season. You were wayyy too tense through this. I wish you were more relaxed but I know you still enjoyed it. It’s been a while since I’ve seen Serenity in full and while I was thinking ahead I found out what River meant by, “He didn’t lie down. They all lie down.” She meant the other students AND the people on Miranda.” “I’ll show them. Oh, God.” A heavy burden to let everyone else in on. Seeing Book the first time cracked the dam. Then… he didn’t have to be on the ship but to still be a part of the crew. The true story behind the Reavers is so awful. A secret that could destroy the Alliance despite their reasons to do what’s best for everyone. Jayne passing the bottle to Simon was an incredible show of trust and dare I say it, friendship. Wash A leaf on the wind. See how he soars. Imagine if Serenity were to be shown again in the theaters. I’ll be there all day!! Brown Coats forever We all aim to misbehave

Dave965

How do Reavers clean their spears?

Dave965

By running them through the Wash.

Thomas Yanez

Just finished watching along with you, and was reminded - there is a nice instrumental version of the TV show's theme song at the very end of the credits.

jamesthevampyr

I'm sad its over, however there's always the fun TV show bloopers and the movie outtakes too watch. :D

Thomas Yanez

Oh, and not just about that - there are other topics from the show covered that I think you'd be interested in.

Alex Tan

I do hope that we get an action/thriller movie poll tomorrow.

Dave965

Still too soon for me after all these years. I saw Serenity on opening day in the theater, and it tore me up. Better to laugh than cry.

Christian Benítez Ugarteche

Because you loved the show, I would recommend you watch the Buffyverse TV series, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and also Angel.

Vwlss Nvwls

That was an amazing reaction. I still feel the same as I did seeing it for the first time in the theater, and I still tear up at the end, even though I have seen this movie about 30 times now. Some of my very favorite things in this are the writing and the acting by Chilwetel Ejiofor as the Alliance Operative. I really love the dialogue though, especial the call backs to the operative calling River an albatross, and then Mal calls her Little Albatross at the end. Also when Mal meets the operative and the operative tells Mal "you can't make me angry", then in the final fight when the operative shoots Mal in the back and Mal says "You shot me in the back! I haven't made you angry, have I?" Those and so much more subtle dialogue just makes this and any of Joss Whedons works so much more azmazing.

Myoclonic Jerk

"I am just not ready for this to be over!" Welcome to the Browncoats.

Luis Fernandez

Great reaction to the end of a great series. Now that you've seen Joss Whedon kill Coulson, Wash, and Book, you know you can never truly trust the guy to let everyone live happily ever after. If you ever watch the TV series Castle, which had Nathan Fillion, you'll catch a few Firefly references throughout the show. Or if you don't ever intend to watch the show you can youtube them. The Space Cowboy scene was the best.

Michael Bergeron

I know the comic is Books “canon” backstory. But I thought after watching this movie, and I think I always still will, that Book was an operative. And walked away from it similar to Chiwetel’s operative in the movie. That’s my headcanon anyway.

LightsCameraJake

Your next TV show should be "Band of Brothers" its a HBO mini series consisting of 10 episodes that tells the true story of Easy Company in WW2 as the 101st airborne durng the invasion of Normandy. You seen them before, in Saving Private Ryan. Even though that wasnt a true story movie, Ryan was in the 101st airborn in Easy Company. Tom Hanks starred in that film, with Band of Brothers both Tom Hanks and Steven Spielburg are the producers and youll see some actors in that film that got their start in that show that are very big name actors today.

BubblyRainbows

This was a nice surprise to wake up to after my latest surgery! I originally saw "Serenity" when I pulled it out of my dad's DVD collection. I liked the cover and it seemed like a cool Sci-Fi movie. I had no idea there was a series connected to it. My dad caught me watching it almost at the end and was horrified that I saw it without seeing the series first, so he dropped the full season of "Firefly" on my lap and told me I had to watch it or I was grounded. Edited because I accidentally hit enter and posted half a comment.

Eric H

My deep-felt thank you for taking this Firefly/Serenity journey. It was pure joy to watch you fall in love with this amazing and unique show. Sorry for the emotional trauma. Your break from horror films did not go well. Reavers and beloved characters are a difficult combination. The people who made this show have a special love for it. People like you who help keep the show alive on Patreon and Youtube do a wonderful service to that love. Thank you again dear Addie.

Daniel Goldberg

I have seen this series and movie more times than I can remember and I never get tired of it. And it has been such a pleasure and wonderful experience sharing your journey through Firefly. It doesn’t look like anyone has mentioned yet that there is a little more Firefly content to watch. The River Tam Sessions, which can be found on YouTube, are several short videos of River having some kind of session with someone in the institute where she was being held. Summer Glau does an amazing job portraying how what they did to her changed her over time.

Sean Murphy

I'd suggest looking into the comics and books to continue the story. No spoilers but certain people get their wish. Unfortunately not sure how a reaction would work there. Unless it's a book review. That might be cool.

Richard Flores

Oh, that break from horror films, Spooktober, the one singular movie Addie was looking forward to. Moment I heard her say that, it was just... This is not the movie to go to for relief. So sorry. Addie, I am so sorry. And also not sorry. I am so glad you loved it all.

Phil Stubblefield

I also saw the movie when it first came out, but without having even known that it was based on a TV series. Even so, I thought the film was *fantastic*, and I bought the series as soon as I learned about it. Given that I went into the theater without knowing the back story, a certain twist surprised me but didn't affect me as strongly as it did those who already loved the characters. 😥

Bill W

Hey Addie, are you going to do a Youtube edit for this?

Pokeysaurus

“‘Tis better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all.” RIP Serenity ❤️

Bill W

Mal and Inara getting together would've been too mushy and predictable and pure fan service instead of creative writing. They had to keep the characters true. Mal still has a ship to run and get back in business and give everyone else the time they need to get back to feeling normal again, especially Zoe.

Nicole

If you haven’t watched Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I highly recommend it!

Sample-Text

There is a comic book series based on Book's past, titled The Shepherd's Tale. You wanted to know more about him and that might be a way.

Pand

I just want to say it was an absolute joy to rewatch Firefly with you. I love how invested in the characters you got, it's really nice to watch someone appractiate something you love for the first time. You're a Browncoat now!

crazyivan

Don't waste your time or money buying the "comic book" - it looks like it was just thrown together after the movie. They should've just said he 'worked' for the alliance before he was a shepherd.
