The rooftop was quiet, the city spread out beneath them, its hum fading into the night. Arsenal leaned back against the brick, breath a little uneven after their patrol. Nightwing stepped in close, closing that last inch of space until Roy could feel the warmth radiating off him.

“Always have to push it, don’t you?” Dick’s voice was low, teasing, carrying that edge of command Roy both hated and secretly craved.

Roy smirked, though his pulse betrayed him. “And you wouldn’t have it any other way.”

A hand pressed to his chest, firm, pinning him lightly against the wall. The other slid along his jaw, tilting his head up until their eyes locked. For a heartbeat, Roy thought Nightwing might just let the moment pass like so many before. Instead, Dick’s mouth claimed his—slow at first, then deepening, confident, demanding.

Roy’s legs shifted, instinctively hooking higher against him, his body answering without hesitation. The strength in Dick’s grip held him steady, grounding him while the world tilted. The kiss was consuming, more than a promise, less than a surrender, and it left Roy’s lungs burning when they finally parted.

“Damn you,” Roy whispered, his voice rough, his lips still tingling.

Nightwing’s smirk was wicked, his forehead resting against Roy’s. “You love it.”
