SWEET BABY CHEESES it's the moment I've been looking forward to/dreading for months! The SERIES FINALE of Young Royals. Thank God there's a documentary still left to watch, because I'm not ready to say goodbye :(

Here is the unedited, full-length version of my reaction to Episode 6, and I would love it if you watched along with me. Definitely be sure to let me know your thoughts about It if you do! I've provided the unblurred version up top via Streamable (just click the photo thumbnail), and the link for the blurred YouTube version can be found here: https://youtu.be/XpqNONbcp-Q. For those watching the YouTube version, remember that you'll need your own copy of the episode to sync up.

Thanks as always for your incredible support, and I hope you have a great rest of the day/night!

Nils told Wille that he thought they knew but didn't know for sure because it wasn't something they talked about. Him saying this is showing that they didn't know, or at least Vincent didn't know. I didn't think August looked surprised.

Ahhhhhh, I see, I see. Thank you!!! Yeah, there was so much going on in this episode and I don't think I was in the right state of mind to take it all in on the first watch lol. I'm leaning on you for guidance until I can re-watch haha

Forgot to remind you to put the English CC on instead of the regular subtitles this episode. The songs on this episode do immense storytelling. That final scene with the montage, you say that a big sweeping song would have made it more emotional for you. Watch that scene again as the lyrics come up to that song. I full on sobbed at that point. Also, you seemed to have noticed that the school choir sang Simon's Song instead of the traditional school song sang when Wille gave his speech. There was confusion on Simon's face then incredulous realisation. The students finally accepted a change he made to modernise their school after a year of bullying and ostracising him. Do you hear the remixed version of the Revolution song from season one playing when they first start the white party? It plays again on the truck August is partying on as Wille declares him the heir his parents want. Finally Wille Song. Did you notice Simon's reference in it to Wille's words over the phone to him on his drunken/high escapade on the football field in season 1? Simon empowering Wille with his own words back to him - remember when you said, he says twice.

Wille throwing the frog prince and shattered globe away and the Queen draping a frog Prince plush toy over August's neck.

Did you notice that Wille used Simon's exact words to tell his mum why he doesn't want his role. "No one has chosen this and you haven't chosen Wille. What kind of life is that? I see how it makes you feel."

Perfect series finale 10/10. Man, they took us to hell and back! which made the ending feel so so EARNED. I laughed so loud at your “Not now Weasley!” in the library scene🤣 Lisa (show creator & head writer) said that if Henry hadn’t interrupted, she imagines Wille would have told Simon in that moment: “I just want to say….that I don’t know who I would have been, if I didn’t meet you” * sobs* I love how much you ship Wille & Simon! At the White Party: Simon: Let’s have one last night together David: Noooo…for forever! After Wille & Simon say goodbye after the graduation: David: “No, I don’t accept this!” SAME Fun fact: the lake scene was improvised by Edvin (Wille) and Omar! Those fools wanted to kill us dead. The script apparently just said “they go swimming & reminisce about their relationship.” But Wille had to go and sing “It takes a Fool to Remain Sane” which is what Simon was singing when Wille first saw him, and what Wille later sang to Simon when they snuck outside together at the end of S1 episode1. They were so insane for all the callbacks and parallels this episode to previous seasons. Wille’s birthday song was full of them. Your tears were SO REAL and mirrored my own. This grown woman cried the last half of the ep. Every scene was just more and more beautiful (or heartbreaking) than the last. Everything was wrapped up so brilliantly. I couldn’t imagine a better ending than those 4 true friends driving off together into their future. Happiness is seeing Hillerska and Crown Prince duties in your rear view mirror. For the first time in his life, Wille is FREE. The relief and smile on his face in that last look at the camera was priceless. It was like he was saying to us: “I’m okay, you can go.” As our man Boris (the counselor) said in S2: We can’t choose who we’re born as, but we can choose how we want to live our lives.” That’s it, that’s Wille’s journey during the entire show. Him realizing he had a choice and finding his voice. It was a privilege to witness. What a brilliant show. The only thing that would have made the series finale any better was Annette.

Thank you for the heads-up about the subtitles! I'll go back and rewatch. I loved that the choir did Simon's song, and I also loved the remixed version of Revolution. I didn't catch it the first time though :) I didn't catch the reference to Wille's words though in his song- I'll check that out again too. I'm like a deer in headlights watching this the first time- I love the re-watched and edits because I get to slow down and pay attention more ;)

Such an amazing comment!!! Thank you thank you for writing all this out and sharing your thoughts and feelings about it. I just cannot accept that it's already done. I really hope that people continue to find this show and keep it alive that way. And also I really hope that there are spinoffs or SOMETHING. I was a big fan of WandaVision, for example (obviously a completely different kind of show, but excellent performances and done well), and I was so sad when they announced that it was a one-and-done thing. But then they decided to keep it going with a spinoff, so who knows? I'll be here for it if they do, and I know you will too! ;)

We were all you. We're coming here in the comments all in the know, but we've watched it several times because we were all dehydrated from the tears we cried that day. Many of us watched episode 6, then the live cast q and a, immediately followed by the documentary and so time to absorb everything wasn't an option. 💜💜💜

David, thank you SO MUCH for your reactions to this series! I honestly got chills at the very end of your commentary on this one because of how much you love this show and are appreciative of those who brought it to your attention. I have watched...let's just say...many reactions to this series and my favorites are those who have been so clearly and genuinely affected by the brilliance of it (the total package, as you mentioned - writing, acting performances, filming, music, production-everything!) I'm super excited for you to see the documentary because I think it will be so fun for you - they did a great job with that as well. I had to take a beat before watching this finale again with you because - my emotions!! I've seen this episode a bunch and have yet not to weep. The first time I was an absolute wreck. Although I progressed through it pretty similar to how you did - in full on denial that they were actually over. But that still didn't stop me from SOBBING from that lake scene onward. Ugh it was a lot. But INCREDIBLE finale. Everything I needed from it honestly. People have done really well in the comments here so I don't even think I have any other fun facts to add! My favorite nugget to share about this ep is always about Edvin and Omar improvising the dialogue at the lake scene because I just think that's incredible. Apparently the director just told them to say whatever they thought their characters would need to say to each other and then they filmed like 8 straight minutes of them improvising together. I mean they are just the definition of amazing chemistry to me. Thank you again and I look forward to the YR Forever reaction! 💜

Thank you so, so much scarr!!!! Oh yes... I was much worse the second time watching (while editing) actually. I guess because I knew what was coming, and so it hit me harder. The first time I'm kind of like a deer in headlights, just taking it as it comes and processing. But so help me Baby Jesus if they'd played Revolution AND shown the flashback montage at the same time, I would have definitely had the ugly cries something fierce! I will say this.. this kind of show, and comments like yours and the others here, are EXACTLY why I wanted to do a reaction channel. I would have likely never known to watch this had it not been for the recommendations, and no one in my personal life (including Marc) watches it. So even if I'd seen it on my own, I would have had to process it alone and not have anyone to share it with. It's so much more rewarding to be able to watch it this way, with all my "channel friends" and talk about it! Plus I learn so much from you guys, and that makes it so much more interesting. Long story short, THANK YOU so much for letting me share this with you!!
