'SUP Awesome Patrons! Well after a very unexpected extreme weather event knocked us way off our schedule, I am finally back on the horse with Taskmaster Season 3 Episode 5, The F.I.P.! And I gotta say- what a perfect, hilarious finale to an incredible season. So, so good!

Here is the unedited, full-length version of my reaction to Episode 5 (*updated thumbnail to come*), and I would love it if you watched along with me. Definitely be sure to let me know your thoughts about It if you do! I've provided the unblurred version up top via Streamable (just click the photo thumbnail), and the link for the blurred YouTube version can be found here: https://youtu.be/BPaUj7r4c-4. For those watching the blurred version, remember that you'll need your own copy of the episode to sync up (I found the full Taskmaster episodes free on YouTube, fyi).

Thanks as always for your incredible support, and I hope you have a great rest of the day/night!

-David

Also.. ‘Dave Gorman’s Modern life is Goodish’ is a really fun show that you’d enjoy as well. He discusses funny and weird modern life issues with the audience with some genius solutions/ hacks. Was one of my favourite shows when it was on. And not to spoil anything but there’s a few Taskmaster Champion of Champions, in between some seasons where all previous winners compete against each other, think first is after season 5, so will need to have a look to make sure you catch them in order x

In case you didn't know, Al's gong film was a reference to a British film company called The Rank Organisation – massive in the 1930s-50s, made a bunch of Carry On films. Their intro was a guy (called the Gongman) hitting a gong. A fun fact about Rank films is that they were shot at Pinewood Studios, the same studio Taskmaster is filmed at! Glad you're back :) I'm very excited for S4 as, in my opinion, it's where the show really finds its footing. Although I think people say that about a lot of series hahah

Calbah

This series was better than I remembered. I'm so excited for you to continue, especially since the next two series have eight episodes each and then there are ten from that point on (except for specials), and this is the last season with four men. From here on out, there are two or three women and in one case one woman and one person who is non-binary. Not that big of a deal, but we will eventually get to experience a team of three women who are delightful together. It's great to have you back! I hope the joy of Taskmaster has made the hurricane recovery a little easier and your day brighter!

I remain convinced to this day with some plastic wrap and tape, a sieve can be made to hold water. They were doing it wrong.

Caroline

I agree.. although I’d say from S5 Alex’s cast selection’s and lineup choice are pure genius😁👌🏼

I don't know if you heard them, but the guy on the beach they got to shout over the charades answers was a UK broadcaster called Ben Fogle. It was just a weird coincidence that he happened to be there working at the same time. Don't worry, that's not a name you need to remember, as he won't be on anything you watch (he used to present a load of random animal shows and documentaries). Still, I thought it was worth mentioning because you said "the pipes on him", which would make sense considering he's a presenter!

Caroline

Same😳😂 I thought it could be done even without the tape, just using the clear bag🤨haha x

Patrick

Since you mentioned that you hope to see some cast members again, I hope you'll watch the short "Taskmaster Champion of Champions" that they do every few seasons with the previous winners pitted against each other

Ohhhh, I see!! No, I didn't catch that. Haha, that's awesome. And also just furthers my theory that Americans lock our famous personalities behind gates and entourages, and celebs in the UK are just wandering around lol

David vs. Film

Hello my friend!! I'm so glad you mentioned this because I have wondered. I realize that these seasons were a pretty good while ago now, but I figured we'd see more and more of a mixture soon. :)

David vs. Film

Thank you!! I'm really excited. If I have time working around my 9-5 job, I'm going to try and start at least the first 2 eps tomorrow :)

David vs. Film

Thank you!! Finally back to good ol' boring normal haha. The dream is still alive to make it to Scotland one day, btw! I would love that. I was talking to a friend of a friend about a train tour they took through Scotland recently; sounded so nice. Expensive, but nice.

Celebrities in the US are put on a much larger pedestal than they are in the UK. I feel like your celebs all living in gated communities or penthouses. Whereas in the UK, most just live among us normal folk. If you have a famous person living in your town, then you see them at the park/gym/shop/pool all the time, and they’re hassled very little beyond a smile or a “hello.” Ireland is even more relaxed. I grew up and lived in Ireland until a few years ago. Many celebrities have holiday homes in Ireland, because in rural small town Ireland, no one really cares. If Matt Damon went to a local rural Irish pub, he may get people offering to buy him a drink. The bartender may get him to pull a pint of Guinness, mostly to open him up for mockery from the locals (which is just Irish love language). But as long as he’s not “up his own hole” (full of himself), then he’d soon be treated no different to any other local. Cities are obviously a bit different, but Beyoncé said cycling round Dublin was one of the best times of her life because people barely recognised her, and those that did just said “hello” and left her alone. When Justin Trudeau visited Ireland, he and the then Taoiseach (Irish prime minister) Leo Varadkar went for a jog in the park in Dublin City. Pics on Google, actually kinda cute. I’ve worked a few events in Ireland with ‘high profile’ people and they rarely come with security. The UK media can be horrible though, but luckily Ben Fogle isn’t famous enough to be followed by paparazzi lol

Oh yous definitely should.. I wouldn’t recommend yous do it by train though. Theres something for everyone depending on your pleasure, whether it be hiking, or a peaceful secluded island with beaches that could be mistaken for the Caribbean. Cities full of historic architecture and so much more. And we Scots are the friendliest bunch ever and will go out our way to help and make everyone feel welcome💕 Yous won’t want to leave😚 I’m in Edinburgh, so have many tourists here all through the year, a lot of Harry Potter fans like to come here to see the graves of where JK got most of the names of characters, such as the Potters, Sirius, Tom Riddle, McGonagal and sure there’s a few more. Also to visit the places that inspired Diagon Ally and Hogwarts. I recommend yous looking into coming here, such a beautiful country no matter where yous decide to go💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Can’t wait for you to get further into these, so many comedians I know you’re going to absolutely adore🥰😁
