'SUP Awesome Patrons! We have arrived at Taskmaster Season 4 (yay!), and I gotta say: everything you said is TRUE. You all told me that Season 4 would be an absolute banger, and so far that definitely seems to be the case :) I instantly loved this cast, and I have already identified an early favorite. I am so excited to see everything else coming this season.

Here is the unedited, full-length version of my reaction to Episode 1, "A Fat White Man", and I would love it if you watched along with me. Mel Giedroyc was a presenter of The Great British Bakeoff from 2010 - 2016 with Sue Perkins (together they are a comedy due known as Mel and Sue, which is why Greg’s ‘Mel and shoe’ joke was funny). Then Noel Fielding took over, so it’s funny having them both on the same Taskmaster season. What’s great about this season is the childlike joy from the contestants. While it’s always fun to watch contestants get pissed off on this show, it’s wholesome to watch them have fun. And then there’s Hugh 🤣 I’m excited to get back into this season.

Joe’s great.. he has a show where he trolls online scammers. Think it’s called ‘Joes got ur back’ or something, it’s hilarious😁 Also, Noel actually replaced Mel as presenter on Bake off when it switched channel x

They alluded to it, but the original Great British Bake Off hosts were Mel and Sue Perkins (hence Alex’s Mel and Shoe joke lol). When the show left the BBC Mel and Sue left also since that’s who their contract was thru. An og judge Mary Berry also chose not to continue, which is when Prue came on. But Bake Off aside, I am SO HAPPY you already love this cast so much!!! I had the exact same reaction to Joe my first time through - who is this guy, and why is he so funny and adorable? Haha. Can’t wait for the next ep! : )

Ahhhhh, I see! Thank you! I had no idea so much drama was going on behind the scenes of Bake Off! lol. Yeah, the only version of it that I've seen parts of is with Noel, an older lady with glasses, and a guy with white hair and a beard. And maybe Matt Lucas? Am I dreaming that?

Oh It’s brilliant.. Should watch the clip where he legally changed his name to Hugo Boss after the company had gone after a small business for using the word Boss in the name of one of their beers.. it completely blew up online with “Hugo Boss” aka Joe trolling them all over social media😂 Just pure genius and comedy gold.. from him completely wasting scammers time, to even catching puppy farmers online! You should definitely watch a couple of clips from it.. coz I know you’d LOVE the whole show💕 And I’m pretty sure Mel had already resigned and left Bake Off before Noel became a presenter. Think even if she hadn’t, there still wouldn’t be any bad blood between them.. They’re both far too nice😌x

No Matt Lucas was there for a bit. Noel and Sandy Totsvig took over immediately after Mel and Sue but then I think Matt replaced Sandy. Tbh I haven’t watched since the Mel and Sue days….they really made the show for me (as much as I love Noel). He also SHINES in this Taskmaster season - he makes me laugh almost the hardest in a lot of the tasks. The whole cast is just so fun and sweet and hilarious.

Aaaah, I've been excited to watch this all day! This cast is so cute. I love Lolly. I thought you'd really like Joe though, so I'm glad I was right. A fun fact – Mel is a bit of a national treasure over here, so Alex actually wore a tie during all of her tasks to show respect! Have always found that very sweet. Her recurring 'oh, gang...' is something I quote VERY often. Have you seen Fleabag? If so, that might be where you recognise Hugh from. He played the Bank Manager.

Sorry for delay in reply!! I love that bit about the ties also :) Definitely an Easter egg I'll be looking out for now. Can I tell you what a delightful discovery Fleabag was for me?? I had never even heard of it or Phoebe Waller-Bridge prior to a friend recommending it, but once I tried it, I binged the whole show. The finale of S1 was particularly so, so good. I didn't specifically remember Hugh from that, I don't think, but it's been a while. Maybe it's my subconscious bubbling to the surface with your help :)
