'SUP Awesome Patrons! Unsurprisingly, the second episode of Season 4 continued to highly entertain, specifically with the long distance painting and Joe Lycett's personal task of smiling every 30 seconds. How do they come up with these??

Here is the unedited, full-length version of my reaction to Episode 2, "Look at Me", and I would love it if you watched along with me. Definitely be sure to let me know your thoughts about the episode if you do! I've provided the unblurred version up top via Streamable (just click the photo thumbnail), and the link for the blurred YouTube version can be found here: https://youtu.be/O4hPBA9IKDo. For those watching the blurred version, remember that you'll need your own copy of the episode to sync up (I found the full Taskmaster episodes free on YouTube, fyi).

Thanks as always for your incredible support, and I hope you have a great rest of the day/night!

Yes, this is totally gonna be my afternoon treat for getting stuff done!

David vs. Film

Woohoo!! Oh btw, I just sent you a reply about Hamilton/musicals in general from your comment on the Legend's Pick post. 😁

This was a fun episode. I had totally forgotten about Joe's smiles solo task. Mel is a delight isn't she, I love the cast dynamic and Greg and Alex are very playful. This and GOT double bill you are spoiling us today. Have a great rest of the week xx

Michael Nolan

I first saw Noel Fielding in the mind bogglingly weird show "The Mighty Boosh" in about 2005. I remember his character subscribed to a magazine that was so cool that each issue was hand delivered by ninjas (who would run alongside your vehicle if you were driving and fling the magazine through your window). Among many other characters, Noel also played the half man half fish Old Gregg (and partly woman? Anyway, he had a Mangina) You should definitely check out YouTube clips of Old Gregg. He will live in your head rent free (and haunt your dreams.) Joe Lycett is a character, unafraid of who he is. His personality was destined to be on TV. Hugh Dennis is an old school comedic actor. He has been around since the 1850s. Mel Giedroyc and her comedy partner Sue Perkins (as everyone has already told you) used to host the Great British Bake Off. To my shame, this show was the first time I ever saw Loli in anything.

Ok, now I'm very confused because I clearly remember Old Gregg being hilarious when I was in college but you are totally correct, the Mighty Boosh didn't exist until 10 years after I was in college 🤔 Now I'm wondering why on earth we were drinking Bailey's out of a shoe in the mid-to-late 90's...

Becky

You missed it this time, but Alex said, "So we've teamed them up. We've got TV's most popular double act, Mel and Hugh." This is why I felt it was important after the last episode to mention Mel and Sue after the Mel and Shoe joke.

Calbah

On the first Big Fat Quiz of Everything, Noel picks up Mel's shoes and says they're adorable and he wants to drink Bailey's out of them. I didn't get it at the time.

The painting one was like a combo of "paint a horse while on a horse" and "get the potato in the golf hole without touching the red green" with a splash of only Josh has to figure out the number of grains in a bag of rice. I'm always impressed with the art tasks because I couldn't come close to the worst ones. Mine would all be stick figures or I'd have to risk doing abstract art. I love this cast. They're all so nice, but also a bit cheeky. All people I would equally enjoy at a dinner party or planning a heist. 😆

I feel obligated to use this series with Lolly as an opportunity to shamelessly plug my favourite show of all time – if you ever need an easy, feel-good sitcom to react to, watch BBC Ghosts! Lolly plays one of the main characters. It follows a couple whose house is haunted by a group of (loveable but very chaotic) ghosts from different historical eras. Lots of little insights into British culture and history, and a good queer storyline too. Plus, quite a few future Taskmaster contestants... 7, if I'm remembering correctly. Am I selling it? I don't know how big it actually is over there, but you might have even seen the American remake on CBS. I'm hoping other people will recommend it when S4 goes live on your YouTube hahah I THINK Alex's iPad does actually control the screen, but I know he definitely does the scoreboard! They confirmed that in a S16 outtake when Greg said he'd thought the iPad was fake until that point. You should watch the outtakes when this series ends, by the way! They start at S4.

Becky

The outtakes are a must watch in my opinion, as a superfan of the show (which David seems to be now!)

David vs. Film

I can confirm that I am DEFINITELY a fan now- you're right about that, Becky :) And I am so glad you guys remind me about things like outtakes and after credit scenes in movies, because I always forget to look for those! Evan- I love your comment about Greg thinking the iPad was fake until S16- that's really funny, actually. Oh and Ghosts.. Yeah, the American version was not my cup o' tea, but I'm definitely down to give the original a shot ;)

David vs. Film

Thanks, Becky!! Yeah, and I totally didn't the Mel and Sue references at first, but now I have been brought up to speed on them :)
