'SUP Awesome Patrons! Major thanks to all who were able to join the Taskmaster LIVE Watchalong yesterday. I had so much fun checking out the premiere episode of the 6th season, and I really enjoyed the discussion afterwards! If you weren't able to join in real time, don't worry because we will do it again next weekend. For that one, we've also talked about maybe starting Derry Girls immediately following, but I'll keep you posted. In the meantime, here is a copy of the S6 E1 reaction and chat.

The link for the unblurred version via Streamable is up top (just click the photo thumbnail), and the link for the blurred watch along version can be found here: https://youtu.be/ec9sNI6Fi_A.  For those watching the blurred version, remember that you'll need your own copy of the episode to sync up (I found the full Taskmaster episodes free on YouTube, fyi).

Thanks as always for your incredible support, and I hope you have a great week ahead!

-David

OMG YES can't wait to watch this.

Only a couple minutes in, and I’m surprised you haven’t come across Russell Howard yet! Russell Howard’s Good News would definitely be a good one to watch compilations of on YouTube. A good clip to start with if you’re looking for something short is The Difference Between UK and US Ebola News Coverage. I can’t watch this whole episode in one sitting as I have to head out shortly, but I look forward to watching the rest!

Yeah, these are all brand new faces to me, including him :) I can tell by the title alone though that The Difference Between UK and US Ebola News Coverage is something that I would enjoy lol

Russell and Tim are definitely the most famous on there. Tim is known for his one-liner/pun style stand-up comedy, and was also on Not Going Out with Lee Mack. Russell has two shows, Russell Howard’s Good News, which was followed by The Russell Howard Hour. Both topical comedy news shows, where he breaks down the happenings in the world in a hilarious way. All I have to say about Alice is she’s the type of woman where I can’t tell if I want her, or just want to be her lol. I just think she’s cute asf. This is a pretty low ranking season but as we’ve all said before, there is no such thing as a bad series. I felt this way going into series 3, but I ended up having an amazing time watching it with you. So I can’t wait to get into this series with you, and gain a whole new appreciation for it. P.S relating to the Jimmy Carr joke, I know the one you mean. And I promise you, that’s quite a mild one by Jimmy Carr standards haha.

I really enjoyed the live stream and watching again to concentrate on your reactions. I really appreciate this series even though it does not stand out as much as some, maybe because the cast are quite gentle. Loved that it is now 10 episodes, really like this cast and they have some fun and memorable tasks coming up. Alice is cute as a button, Asim is very sweet, Liza is my spirit animal, Russell endearing and Tim very funny even though I often don't like puns. Greg and Alex continue to be hilarious, charismatic, adorable and their dynamic fascinating. However long it takes you David, no worries as your reactions are a gift and they take me back to seeing the episodes for the first time again. Always a joy. Thank you again. xx

Missed another Watchalong. 🥲 Excited to watch this season!

Great season, honestly the first episode was a lot funnier than I remember. There’s a top 10 task (for me) somewhere in here - I will tell you when it pops up haha. Gonna be a good time as always!

Thank you B00b!!! :) I love when you come along on the journey. The Carr joke just reappeared on my Insta, btw, so I had a chance to listen to it again.

Aww thank you Cazza!!! So nice! :) Yeah, they all seem great. And I'm not a Taskmaster veteran yet, so I'm pretty easy to please anyway. I think sometimes people think that I just like everything since I'm never that tough on anything, but not true. My criticism is usually reserved for the execution of a movie or show (like screeching ad nauseam about how long it takes Stranger Things to get new seasons out, or how LOST - even though it's my favorite show - made some seriously questionable decisions) rather than the content itself. Really hope you can make the next stream bc I'm excited about Derry Girls.

I love when there's a top task!!! :) And you know I trust your judgment, so I'm already getting ready lol

I think out of all contestants from all the shows, Liza is the one I feel most like. One episode in particular I can't wait for.

I immediately loved her. Specifically because of her great energy. I'll be on the lookout for the episode you're talking about.
