'SUP Awesome Patrons?? THIS WAS AN EXCELLENT MOVIE!!!! Literally one of the best I have seen all year. Unfortunately, Marc wasn't able to join me after all for this one, but I am so glad to have watched it myself. I want to say a major thank you to ALL who voted in the 4th of July poll and also to you guys who provided recommendations. A special thanks to Tracey Mendenhall Porreca in particular for putting up Hidden Figures. :)

The full version of my reaction with the original content and commentary is up top (just click the photo thumbnail), and the link for the muted, watchalong version can be found here: https://youtu.be/SqviE4ZxPtQ. (Keep in mind those of you opting for the watchalong version that you will need your own copy of the movie to sync up.)

Thanks as always for your incredible support, and I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week!

I'm so glad you loved it! Not that there was even a question about that before hand. This is just a great movie all around. I also watched, I guess it would be a documentary, about how the movie and the actual events stacked up and while there WERE things that weren't quite right, the way they did the movie was the better way to tell their story, IMO. It was just things like, they didn't actually all drive in together and the bathrooms weren't still separated at that time at NASA. That part took place a couple years earlier. It's hard to fit in EVERYTHING into a movie. I have watched this one about a dozen times now and will watch a dozen more, I'm sure.

Loved the full-length reaction. Such a good movie. Well done, David!

Thank you! I knew you would enjoy this and appreciate it! I absolutely love this movie. This is one of my favorites to watch on a flight if it's offered because I enjoy it every time. A couple of fun facts: Hans Zimmer and Pharrell Williams worked on the music for this. All those great songs you commented about being so perfect? Those were written/produced by Pharrell specifically for the film. And the out-tro song was sung by Janelle Monae! And who doesn't love Octavia Spencer? She's a national treasure. I saw interviews with Jim Parsons who really struggled with his character because of the character's predjudices. And Kevin Costner, as he does, had a big hand in this movie's development. I wish more folks knew and appreciated this film. Hopefully Marc will get to see it at some point because I believe he would like it as well. Thank you again. Great reaction!

Thank you so, so much Tracey! Yeah, I already told Marc all about the movie and that he has to watch. And a special thanks for telling me that about the music. I loved it. :)
