You asked how they filmed the chase scenes in the woods when Depp was fighting the horseman. Here’s how. The woods was a short strip of a set. It wasn’t very long but Burton used many different camera angles, so you wouldn’t be able to see that it was all the same set. It was filmed inside the studio. The day they were shooting Depp being dragged by the carriage, he was sick and was running a 101 degree temperature. But he is a professional and they needed the shots, so he did it. That whole town was built from scratch on location. The real town’s people wanted them to leave it, including the windmill, but that’s not allowed for insurance reasons. It won the Oscar for Best Art/Set Decoration, deservedly so. It was nominated for Cinematography and Costume Design but did not win. It did win Best Production Design and Best Costume Design at the BAFTA Awards. All in all, it won 28 awards out of 44 nominations worldwide. Depp always keeps one prop of his choosing to keep as a memento of that movie. For this one, he kept the iron maiden. Ricci was very nervous about doing this role because it was really her first real character, not like Wednesday Addams, and it was her first role with an accent. Depp and Ricci had “relations” during the filming, as per what Depp usually does, but it didn’t last long after the work was finished… as per what Depp usually does.

Get out of here, really??? I know I can always count on you for this kind of information that I love!! Thank you, Eddie :) It's such a great movie, and Burton films things so well. Perfect movie for this time of year.
