Great video and reaction! :] It's excellent to hear your thoughts and commentary along the way. Definitely some powerful and sad moments during these two episodes! Bring on season 2!

I assume you’ve heard this by now but Lucia is a national celebration in all of Sweden on December 13th. It’s basically what you saw, a long line of people with one Lucia and other people behind her. The only difference is there’s more than one song being sung, the songs vary in every celebration but the song in the episode is always sung at the beginning and end of the performance (while the “train” of people walk in/out). There are a few different versions of the song with different lyrics but the melody is always the same. The short version of why we celebrate it is to bring light into the darkness of winter and chase away evil spirits.

So YES, several people have told about Lucia at this point, but your description is the most comprehensive. I really appreciate it- I had no idea going in what was going on, but the ceremony looked beautiful! (everything looks better in candle light, though, right?? lol)

Haha yeah Lucia would not be the same without the candles, just a choir singing while wearing nightgown looking dresses haha. It’s beautiful to watch live!
