What’s up Awesome Patrons?? For a while now, several of you have asked me about the full-length reactions and whether there was any way to watch the unblurred versions of them. This has always been problematic because, obviously, Marc and I want to make sure that we are following all copyright laws and regulations in accordance with Fair Use, as well as abiding by YouTube's internal policies and restrictions, etc etc.

While we are still not able to provide the unblurred, unmuted films on YouTube (even with Fair Use) due to their hosting practices, I think I may have found a workaround by utilizing Streamable. Streamable is not a public platform like YouTube, but rather an online video storage site similar to Google Drive. In other words, these videos have no way of being publicly hosted, searched, or presented as with YouTube. You would have to have the private link in order to view the video, and it is not hosted publicly.

Long story long, starting with The Dark Knight Rises there will now be TWO links in the full-length Patreon posts: one for Streamable and one for YouTube. The Streamable link will have the unblurred, unmuted version of the film with our commentary accompanying, and the YouTube version will be blurred and muted as usual. The reason I'm still keeping the YouTube method is because some people are just more comfortable with YouTube, and also because if this becomes a problem in the future, we'll have those versions as backups. :)

As always, THANK YOU so much for your support! I really am trying to make things more accommodating for you guys because y'all are truly the best audience out there. Hope you have a great weekend!

I think this is a great thing to implement, especially keeping a blurred on YouTube and an unblurred on Streamable. Nice concept!

I’ve never heard of Streamable. Is there a charge? I want to make sure I have this correct. We won’t need a copy of the film. Just watch you and the film on Streamable. I’m Leary because this sounds too good and too easy. What’s the other shoe that’s gonna drop. I’ve missed watching films with you guys!

No the charge is on my end for the storage space. This is very similar to Google drive, whereby it's just a site with cloud storage. My understanding is that YouTube is slightly similar. Even if uploaded privately or unlisted, videos could be made Public at the push of a button, so YouTube has a greater liability for copyright infringement by hosting full films and shows for free, even if the argument could be made for Fair Use. This is not publicly accessible without a link, so it's more like the watch parties you see on streaming apps now. Friends getting together to watch a movie, etc. Plus in this case, Marc and I are giving our thoughts, analysis, and critique of the material, so it should be considered Fair Use. HOWEVER, laws vary from country to country and even Fair Use here in the States is not absolute. So if this starts to become problematic or I receive takedown notices, etc., I will of course comply :)
