A massive THANK YOU to the Patrons who joined the live watch along last night on Discord of United 93! Obviously this was a more serious and somber movie given the subject matter, but we still managed to have some fun as we honored those who lost and were lost on that fateful day 22 years ago.

If you'd like to see the recording of the watch along, you can find the unblurred version up top via Streamable (just click the photo thumbnail), or the link for the blurred YouTube version is here: https://youtu.be/7by7RGIIOng. For those watching the YouTube version, remember that you'll need your own copy of the movie to sync up.

Thanks as always for your incredible support, and I hope you have a great rest of the day/night!

Thank you for such a warm Discord welcome last night when I joined, maybe next time I can figure out how to chat/respond! 🤣😉

Yes!!! Thank you! And hey- when we first did this for Andor, it took me a good hot minute to learn how to do ANYTHING from chat to adjust the volume.. you name it. No judgment here! We'll get it next time :)

I'm sorry I didn't get to watch this live with you guys. I have seen this before and was sickened by the selfishness and hypocrisy of the highjackers. I spent the night of September 11 2001 watching the TV coverage in Christchurch, New Zealand. It was the first time I ever heard of Osama Bin Laden

Every time I watch these movies, I am taken back to that day. My step brother and his wife were both in the army and both were stationed in Washington. I lived in Vegas at the time and for the life of me, I could not remember where bubba worked. I spent hours being afraid he worked at the pentagon. And the phone lines were horrible and I couldn’t get through to anyone until late that night when I was finally told they were safe and working triple shifts. They both worked at Walter Reed and they volunteered to help at the pentagon. It was the single most terrifyingly relieved moment of that day for me.

Thank God they were both ok! Yeah, I was saying last night that I grew up in Bossier City, Louisiana, and we have a big Air Force base there, Barksdale. We lived near the base and I remember seeing Air Force One land right before the President made a statement, then he headed out to wherever he went before heading back to D.C. (Nebraska I think it was). Fortunately that’s as close as we came to personally having any kind of connection that day. Mostly we just watched the horrors on TV.

It’s always so strange to me how that one day turned everything on it’s head. I remember after everything was over, seeing the footage of the President in that classroom when they told him what happened and his face, just seeing him try to work out what to do. As a side note, all of those phone calls are real. Those are the actual (as close as they could get them in some cases, like Mark Bingham) conversations that happened. The answering machine messages are out there in documentaries and at the 9/11 memorial in New York as well (if I remember correctly). There’s also the black box recording that the families have heard, but it’s never been released and never will be, according to the FAA and the families.

Just so, so sad. And for the surviving family and friends to have to see it recreated would be bittersweet I would imagine. If they could even watch. :(
