I love how this show has good lessons into the storyline. but it was refreshing to see Aang pick up water bending really easily! Makes the end of summer deadline not feel so crazy.

Waterbending comes easy for Aang because I think iirc bending is spiritual in a sense and the Air Nomads culture is based on Buddhism, a peaceful religion. Meaning they're very much in tune with their spiritual side.

Plus plus he's already a master of 1 bending style. He has solid fundamentals even if its in a different bending style (esp a bending style so similar)

Regarding the gracefulness of waterbending, as stated before, the bending in the show is based on actual real world martial arts. Waterbending specifically is based on Tai Chi.
