Fixed the audio issues with this one. I was still going to post it if I couldn't fix the audio and just use the audio from the camera but it all worked out . BUT LET me just say about this episode... it was so beautiful especially with Wilhelm's story with his wife. THE FEELS were strong with this one

pinchechino

This reaction went whale. Sorry

Galen Vaughn

Hope you get to s2 before the end of the month

Thorfinn45

That moment when Wilhelm defeated the whale and said that he loved his wife it pierced my heart❤😭 also at this point you can watch the second opening and especially the ending song its very touching without worrying about spoilers

LionsGate

You have about 4 episodes left after this.

Pre episode: The show doesn't go out of its way to tell you the relation between Wilhelm and Reinhard, but it obviously lets you know both of their names and the family being a line of master swordsman. Knowing they're related puts some interesting implications out. Episode 21: This is one of my favorite episodes. Just love the way that this team works together. I LOVE Wilhelm's backstory, the cuts between the flashback and him killing the whale, always make me tear up. Also that is the first time that Wilhelm said I love you to his wife, even more tragic. Crusch might be my favorite candidate. I like Emilia for sure, but Crusch just seems like someone you would want to lead. Seeing their camps get along is some magical. And of course, plenty of great Rem moments here. I think it's obvious, with the dialogue in the later half that Subaru clearly cares a lot about Rem.

Volumes 2 and 3 of Re:Zero Ex(Spin off series of novels detailing stories about other characters before the man series takes place) tell Wilhelm and Theresia’s story in detail if you wanted more of it.

PoisonRedAngel

I love that you felt the Wilhelm story, not many reactors feel it.

skiks

I'm not crying, you're crying.

ohh

beautiful episode

Lye Batenkaitos

Also in arc 5, the chapter “theresia van astrea” also gives a lot of the scoop, but I guess that’ll be around s3 lol

D Reed

“Do you love me?” “....You know that” Wilhelm is confirmed as a tsundere lol

Jaerek

As you can tell, Theresia hated having to wield the sword because of her status and Wilhelm relieved her from it so she could be free. A cool fact is that in the end, he switches from "watakushi" (pronoun used by old people) to "ore" (used when he was young) when he's saying "I love you", because he never really said it directly when he was young.

Biostar

Hey SMF, I wanted to share with you an excerpt from the Re:Zero light novel that I believe you would be interested in once you reached episode 21. It takes place right after the whale fight. Don't worry, it doesn't have spoilers, it's just a scene that was cut down in the anime but I think is still pretty important:https://imgur.com/a/Xa2l7p4

SalmonYu

Not sure why they would cut the rem scene down in the anime but yes plz Lye let her know.
