If you dont know, almost the whole of wano is being added to so Oda can get the manga out quicker, eg hiyoris backstory, zoro and luffys fights, all of them are extended more than just to "make people seem invinsible". If you think big mom and kaido hit eachother once and that was the fight, idk for you

Only the manga is canon, what you're saying is just speculation and guessing. What happens in the anime is NOT canon. Big Mom and Kaido only hit each other once.

No it’s not when you can literally find videos of Oda telling animators what to add, and interviews saying so. Not only this, but several mangaka do this, there’s a reason shiki, an anime movie introduced villain IS still cannon , because Oda wanted him to be, Z too. There are literal books and SBS’s where Oda adds information to this “cannon” you are on about. If only the manga is cannon, then why have there been a myriad of mistakes in the manga that were fixed in anime. I get the manga is the original and should be looked at as such, but when Oda skips whole scenes and the anime expands on them you can’t keep saying “ignore the anime this didn’t happen” like Yh... the anime is a rendition of the story, this isn’t like NA adaptations where they forego the original plan, Oda does have a say as to wtf the anime does bro. If you still don’t think anime are sometimes a better adaption look at how the AoT writer literally had the anime redo how season 3 was structured because he didn’t like how he did it in the manga. Face it wano anime > the manga, that’s not saying the manga isn’t amazing. But look at Sanji vs page one and tell me it’s not “cannon” despite how it ended making more sense to the mangas later plot line more than the mangas version of the fight did

Its still only speculation. Having a say doesnt mean everything happens according to him. He is involved sure like almost every mangaka is, but it doesnt make it more canon. Only the things in the manga are canon because its exlusively was written by him, other media arent except interviews stuff and things he published himself. And thats one of the reasons why movies like Strong World involing Shiki isnt even if the character is canon. The anime in general just likes to strech things and thats all about it. I mean we had this little Bat-Man character in the anime who seemed far too poweful even though he was fodder in the manga. We even had a far too streched Luffy vs Kaido fight which was far too even and almost looked like Luffy had a chance. It even seems to contradict the manga sometimes. Long story short stuff to strech or give extra content in the anime arent canon its simple as that. At least as long Oda doesnt say it is. And btw. the movie characters like Z and Shiki werent introduced in the movies but in the manga first which is why they are canon as a character in the first place. Everything that happened in the movies isnt canon.

In the manga, the only thing that was showed to us was that first clash, but it was said the fight went on between Kaido and Big Mom, in off-screen. Oda is letting loads of fights in off-screen in the manga for the anime to adapt. Luffy vs. Kaido isn't one of those, since the fight between them was cleary showed in the manga.

In the manga we only got the first clash, the rest was off-screen. Be Happy the anime extended the fight, even if it was just a little bit.

@Beatrize thats why its up to our imagination how it went down after that. But that doesnt mean what was shown in the anime is canon either or that he left it out specificly for the anime to adept.... You cant simply say because Kaido vs Luffy was shown in the manga already differently so anime cant be canon anymore but the fight between mom and kaido wasnt fully shown so the anime is canon. Thats not how it works its still simply a filler and nothing else it.
