as far as it being a thing in fruits basket they have a picnic at the main girl's mother''s grave, eating with the dead, pouring drinks. Cause that pinwheel guy back in nami's village poured booze for bellemere, and sabo left sake cups at ace's grave.

at first they thought oden was being dissrespectful, but in oden's mind he was sharing a meal and drink with the dead man. Which is a gray ideal, but i see props to oden saying they'd share drinks again in the after life

Well the only thing that Oda wants to show is that ODEN since he was born his strength was of another level, that is why at 18 he already had tremendous muscles. About the Harem, it is not even remotely surprising, he was the prince of Wano and also the bad guy, it was obvious that there would be a group of women who followed him. The unrealistic thing is that Ted Bundy and Richard Ramirez had many fans in their trials, but it happened.

And yeah, no cooking oden soup on someone's corpse is not something people do. But it's something Oden did, because he's super extra. People didn't understand what he was doing until he turned it into something wholesome at the end. Kind of like a last meal and drink. Oden is essentially like those types of Legends you hear about people in the far past. Bigger than life figures, who performed inhumane feats. That's the energy one gets from this.

Adult Tsuru and Kinemon are based on how men and women are drawn in those old old style Japanese paintings, that's why her head is a longer shape in the present story. Reading the manga version of this though, I don't remember her head shape being different in the flashback, but I figure the anime artists would know more than me going off my memory of over a year ago lol

The Oden flashback is the best flashback in the series 💯 I love Oden as a character. My favorite scene is when he is eating oden on his dead friends burning corps.
