haha the "indirect kiss" anime trope is so over used in anime (sharing drinks) but it never gets old!

Disagree with the never gets old part. I think one reason why animes like Horimiya are so extremely popular is because people are indeed tired of cliche tropes. It´s refreshing and the series that do have the balls to not be too cliche get rewarded by a very positive feedback and ratings.

Horimiya wasn’t even that good. After they became a couple within 3 episodes , the rest of the 9 felt like filler honestly. Anime that have a slow burn build up romance tend to perform a lot better

What you just said is nothing but personal opinion. Horimiya was a huge success both critical and rating wise. Doesn´t matter if it was bad for you after a certain episode, the ratings proof that people indeed reward shows that don´t go the cliche route.

I agree with lye that anime was subpar at best especially cause they did huge skips in content as opposed to the anime lol. Sales and a whole bunch of opinions makes it Great ? In that case what your saying is also an “opinion” is a fact all of a sudden. A bunch of ppl could just have it on in the background, numbers don’t mean a show is good; it could have the best numbers ever and still not get another season so your whole it’s a personal opinion thing is dead in the water

While they are definitely making fun of him. Paisen by itself is afaik just slang and not inherently used to make fun of somebody. Though since it's very informal and lax it would be seen as rude if you aren't close with that Senpai.

TV/Streaming ratings were good, Reviews are positive, and the overall Social Media feedback was positive aswell, if that´s not enough to call a show succesfull then please enlighten me...
