@Aelivian no but I have been pretty sad/depressed lately so I am trying to avoid shows that will make me emotional. I want to finish it but so many stressful things have been going on I hope my neighbor thing clears up soon

i don't think she had an issue with cgi before watching overlord but overlord cgi was so crap that it gave her ptsd and it reminded her of the cgi in overlord.

Well they may be the case.. personally it never bothered me but I always paid more attention to how strong ainz was n the moments more than the animation I just hope it’s not a normal thing lmao lots of anime seem to be trying it lately

Yeah CGI is one of those tricky things that needs to be executed correctly or it just ends up looking out of place and takes you out of it. Obviously a good example of CGI usage is Demon Slayer but its mostly reserved for back ground and atmosphere while the characters are very rarely done with CGI. I think a lot of problems animators have is using CGI on characters or fast paced scenes as a means to save money but it makes it very noticeable and takes you out of the show instead of getting you immersed even more in the show. CGI has different shading and art style which immediately brakes the consistency of the art in the show. Which psychologically makes your brain start thinking about how the style or consistency of the show changed instead of being focused on what is happening in the show. I think this the biggest problem with the way a lot of animators use CGI.

If we were going by the novels there is no way they kissed at this point of time considering Naofumi's mental state. But well the anime didn't really care about that part (or the fact that he doesn't get that territory until like 5 volumes further down the line), which might make problems in the future since it would seem like Naofumi suddenly regressed. They will most likely simply ignore this in the following season since if they were to acknowledge this as a kiss it's not just Naofumi's character but also his relationship with Raphtalia that they would have to change from the source material from here on out.

usually anime have to ignore some aspects of things for example. in ReZero Subaru in the books never once believed in Emilia until after Subaru and Emilia had their talk in arc 4 before Subaru running into Otto with his beat down on Subaru, but in the anime Subaru always believed in Emilia during Arc 4. Or Subaru being in love with Satella as much as Emilia just an example. They can't put everything into the anime.

There is a difference between cutting things out because of time constrains and actively changing events, characters and their relationships. Having Idol be an actual threat that knows very well how to fight and having Rapthalia go through with killing him in that combat (well intending to and thinking she has killed him) wouldn't have taken much more time, then having Naofumi stop Raphtalia from killing Idol and having her go through the whole "If I kill you I will sink to your level" farce, even though Naofumi is 120% out to murder trash and bitch if the opportunity arises. It wouldn't have taken any more time to have Naofumi demand the execution and his negotiations with the queen then it would have for the fake execution. That the more detailed politics were cut is one thing, that's understandable. Nevertheless that they completely changed the queen to a weak woman (in contrast to her LN counterpart) that just left everything to Naofumi and hoped for his mercy, instead of a powerful leader that, while still really really pissed at her family, actively uses her skills in politics/negotiations to make Naofumi give up on the execution is a different matter. The same goes for Naofumi himself, they actively changed him to be more of a normal heroic shonen protagonist instead of his kindhearted but vengeful, cynical, petty self. The LN Naofumi would have never stopped the execution and the LN Queen wouldn't ever even let it come to that, she wouldn't have taken a gamble but instead secured the outcome she wanted through her own power. Having Naofumi not kiss Raphtalia wouldn't have taken more time then having this ambiguous scene that makes it look like they kissed. Having him not get his territory yet wouldn't have taken more time then having him get his territory.

From what i remember without researching, the anime was supposed to end here. The author said there was no plans to continue the anime but after seeing all the positive feed back and fans asking about the next season the said they were going to do their best to get another season for the anime. Im pretty sure i saw this information on the day this last episode aired. Obviously another season was confirmed. It has been delayed but not by to long. I really like tnis anime and im glad were getting more.
