It's actually a co-production of WIT Studio (AOT S1&2) and CloverWorks (My Dress Up Darling/ Akebi's Sailor Uniform). CloverWorks really performs this year and I'm glad they can repair their image after the disaster with their 2nd season of "The Promised Neverland".

I did not expect to like this anime when I first heard of it and read the description, but decided to check it out anyways and now it is near the top of my favourite animes 😂, can't wait to see your reaction rn :D. Love the reaction :D, when I watched your reaction I actually think that the girl he dumped at the beginning is that 'evil' guys daughter, it would make lots of sense why he know so much about their family and why he didn't want him to turn around to see him (bc obviously he's seen him b4...but does make me confused as to why he took his mask off, but whatever)

I think one of the central conflicts of this show is similar to what you described, getting attached to his "daughter". But it'll be dangerous for her, of course, but it will lead him into taking more risks than he otherwise would, not to mention making him "relax", as he put it, and make him less able to sense and prepare for danger. Anya will keep getting into trouble, and maybe he will find out about her abilities and make use of her, although he probably shouldn't.
