I think the joke, "didn't work" for a couple reasons. One large part being that after the backlash against Beauty and the Beast with the introduction of a blatantly gay character, became a political discourse on homophobic people post 2015. It demonzied all those who dared criticize Disney. So that said, your cartoon could be viewed as racist instead of the true message of the destruction of childhood heros for profit. Along with the already decades old debate of using "white" actors in a culturally insensitive view of Middle Easterners. Second was the lack of depth showing the true message. If their had been a starry eyed child putting in a VHS of Aladdin to find this crap then I think it might have been better received.

I thought it was funny. Special effects on the lamp are cool, maybe drawing and animating the genie a bit would have been cool, and perhaps a second part, like what happened to Aladdin? Has he gone to find another genie? (haven't seen the movie)
