Been thinking for a while now that the 'narration' isn't Endy relating events in flashback to Niixa or to 'us'. It's the chapter starting in medias res, and he's actually explaining himself and what happened to whomever he's already been taken to. With the amount of 'splainin' that's necessary now, this page appears to back that up; talking his way out of trouble... again.
