Truly there is nothing I can say to prepare you for The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension (1984), but man was it fun to talk about with Linnie of Twice Rolled Tales! Stay tuned for Monday for absolute 80s nonsense!

'The Adventurers of Buckaroo Banzai' is both a modern retelling of the Doc Savage series of books, which is why Buckaroo & his Cavaliers are all so multi-talented. In addition to that, the commentary track is SO much fun to listen to/watch. You learn that the watermelon is a test to find if any studio brass was watching the dailies. And if you look at the jet-car's screen, you get to see the words 'sined', 'sealed', 'delivered' ^_^. The movie is FULL of in-jokes. Lithgow as Emilio Lizardo / John Worfin is such a great villain.
