Hey! I like to goof around on social media, but like, I don't want anyone to be here solely based on me being like POSSIBLY trans. I'm in therapy for gender stuff. I'm enjoying drawing the girl Shen, but currently, afaik, I'm just as cis guy who likes femininity. I don't want to lead anyone into thinking I'm like 3 years into transitioning lmao.

If you are here based on that, I don't want you to feel mislead, and will happily offer a refund for any money you gave me. Just send me a message on here requesting it! I promise: 1) no questions asked 2) no explanation needed 3) you're not gonna be the only one 4) I generally offer refunds if requested as a rule even outside of this, so it's not a weird situation and don't feel uncomfortable requesting one!

I wish you luck on your therapy and exploration, take your time, but I can say honestly about a decade ago I was in a very similar situation playing around with having my character be mostly male and sometimes female. Things have changed a lot since then. Haha

Real talk for a moment: This doesn't read to me as queerbaiting, it reads as Working Through Some Things™. As a trans woman who's been through a version of that myself, that process is different for everyone, but it's always messy and it always happens with whatever's on hand (which for you is comics) rather than staying neatly confined to any single area of one's life. It takes whatever time it takes and that's true regardless of where one eventually lands at the end of it. Great to hear you're talking about it in therapy, that's important! But it's also going to bleed out everywhere because that's the nature of the beast (and the nature of art). All the best to you however this journey turns out!

I was never on the "egg" bandwagon even as a trans person myself, it's a funny bit but even IF someone was trans and didn't know bashing it with a hammer isn't really helpful. You don't need to be trans to have fun with femininity/masculinity or experiment, I'll die on this hill, I think it's healthy and more people should do it, do what makes you happy and all that jazz! And if things change for you that's also okay, people change.

As a non-biney who sometimes wears the binary genders like costumes, I agree it's important to be able to play with the concept of gender for fun. I don't think anyone ever owes to explain their identity unless they want to, and I trust people when they say who they are and want to be called. hi shen. i am a trans woman who's been some flavor of genderqueer for over a decade and on HRT for like eight years. i think it's fuckin awesome when people play around with their gender identity and presentation no matter what happens. u rule. i hope you have the space and support and ability to express yourself however you like. people have a lot of extravagant opinions about transness and gender these days (as all days) and a lot of those positions seem to be based on the idea that there is One Single True Gender For Every Person On Earth. i say buddy, it (like everything else) shifts and flows like water. have fun with it. it's obvious when you share stuff that makes you smile or feel deeply and the right people love that. thanks for sharing your art with the internet, I know it's a big and hard job to have. Honestly, we should encourage men who identify as cis to explore their gender in a variety of ways! Even if they come out the other end saying "Well, I'm still cis" I think the act of exploring that is not only healthy for their own self-understanding, but for understanding others. You don't have to be trans to explore that space. You never know what you might discover. All the best to you!

As a trans woman, I won't lie. I did originally think you might be on the route to discovering you were trans. And that did make me more interested than I otherwise would've been. But I would never ask you to apologize for not being trans. That's ridiculous. You're allowed to be who you are. That's like.... the whole fucking point. If you go through your gender therapy and you find out that you actually do identify with some kind of transgender label, that's wonderful! And I would be happy to see you take that journey. And if you go through that therapy and you feel comfortable identifying with your birth sex as a man, then that's wonderful, too! and I would be happy to see you comfortable in your own skin knowing who you are at deeper level than most cis people. No matter what path your life takes, the important thing is that you're true to yourself. No matter what that looks like.
