What an underrated movie. Also this is where Kevin really got good.

Can’t wait to watch this when I get home. SubZero is a very underrated movie that unfortunately gets overshadowed by Mask of the Phantasm. Glad to see you loved it! I also just wanna give you a heads up, when you start TNBA/Season 3, make sure you watch episode 2 (Sins of the Father) first as that’s actually the first episode and features a major plot that will carry into the rest of the season.

Matthew Cronin

I was gonna watch this with you but max decided to delete it 🙃 I love corporations

I just want Victor to be happy 😂this man can’t catch a break when all he trying to do is help his lovely wife & this & Mask of the Phantasm are 10/10 for me among all the Batman films. Can’t wait for you to see Worlds Finest & when you get to next season of Batman watch episode 2 first then episode one, timeline wise those are the only 2 out of order

Mage Reacts

I'm sorry!! They're so shitty. I rented it for $4

What an awesome thing to watch this morning. I'm so happy you enjoyed this movie as much as I did. That ending shot of Freeze crying knowing that Nora survived always gets me. I thought it was cool that they blended the usual animation style from the show with the more upgraded 3D elements. I think it made this even more cinematic. And as always, I love that you take all of it in with these reactions. The visuals/animation, musics, characters, story, etc. Definitely one of the best Batman movies ever. I'm interested to see what you'll think of season 3 or The New Batman Adventures/TNBA when you start it. But I'm even more excited for the World's Finest reaction! And yes I'm so ready for when you start Batman Beyond after

you mentioning punisher near the end is actually kinda funny, because theres a saying. "if you are writing batman and you cant imagine him comforting a child, you arent writing batman, you are writing punisher in a batman costume"

This ends the original art style for BTAS as the next season changes it to the style of STAS for obvious reasons you’ll be excited about. 👀 The story was great. Mr Freeze once again shows why he’s the most tragic of Batman’s enemies. Of course this film confirms Dick & Barbara are together but they don’t know each other’s identities. If you enjoy their relationship then I would recommend Batgirl Year one & Tom Taylor’s Nightwing run because they are currently together & have a dog.

I haven't seen this since I was like 10. I think we rented the VHS tape. The animation seemed more well done than the series but faithful to the style. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on new art style of "the New Adventures of Batman and Robin" when you watch it. How do I think he got the loyalty of the Polar Bears? My guess is that he found the cubs after their mother died, took them in and fed them. That seems to be the easiest and least dark way he could have gotten them. Let's go with that. Batman Beyond will be amazing, it has a lot of heartwarming moments and a lot of really sad moments, it's a really good sequel to the animated series.

Love your reaction as always! Yeah, this and Mask of the Phantasm are two of my favorite comic book movies! Love Dick and Babs (and I’ve always loved them as a couple too!), Mr. Freeze is one of the best Batman villains, and can never go wrong with Kevin Conroy as Batman! The DCAU was just lightning in a bottle. So many good things to come out of that animated universe!

Not quite on the level of Mask of the Phantasm but a fine outing designed to give Mr. Freeze a climactic send off... until they decided to make more episodes with him later. Oh well. I like the emphasis on Robin here, giving him a parallel with Freeze until they're both fighting tooth and nail for a person they love, pushing Dick to the limits of the Bat code. No idea how Freeze got the Polar bears' allegiance. They probably don't identify him as a human due to a lack of scent and flesh, and if he fed them they'd imprint him as a friend.

Speaking of nostalgia.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMuiQd__uUg Toonami was honestly the best channel ever growing up! We had it here in the UK too. I can remember watching this and Mask of the Phantasm for the first time there. As well as Justice League, Batman Beyond, Teen Titans, and the original Clone Wars just to name a few. SubZero was originally produced as a marketing tie-in with Batman & Robin, the direct-to-video movie turned out be of far better quality than the one produced by Hollywood, a rare thing.
