Omg I just refreshed my patreon and this just popped up. I already know how amazing this episode is and looking at the reaction you have in the thumbnail and you saying this is one of your new favorite episodes, I'm super excited to see what you think fully. Thanks for treating us with a double upload tonight Meg with the Darth Vader read along and now this

After rewatching this, this is still one of the best episodes of the whole show. It's also one of the sadder episodes of the show, which honestly a lot of the more emotional episodes are the best. I love Tim in this and how much he didn't give up on Annie and developed such a connection with her. And to lose her in the way in the way he did, I feel so bad for him. It was also such a messed up visual seeing her being swallowed into Clayface. This episodes also makes me wish Clayface was a villain in a big movie. I do wish the characterization of Batman in this season wasn't as you said so withdrawn and bitter. But I believe the choice to make him that way was to be more in line to how his character was in the comics at that time in the 90's. I absolutely love hearing your discussion at the end so much and while I can't really relate to that in my own experience when it comes to parents and family, I can definitely empathize with you and others I've heard who have had similar experiences. And I think Tim is around 14 or 15 years old as in the original comics, he became Robin at that age. So I think he might be around that age in the show as well. I'm with you on the red sky as well. It's such an awesome and unique addition to this season. I can't wait for the next episode! I believe it's on the list of episodes to record for a reaction and I hope you do. It's another amazing episode and one of my many personal favorites. But thanks again Meg!

Dark & not a happy ending this was like a comic arc lol. & I like it being Tim focused & it was wild & makes me wish the girl was real

Definitely one of the highlights of S3, benefiting from the stylized animation and being from Tim's perspective. The nature vs. nurture argument is old as time. I believe nurture to be much more influential in a person's 'programming', though of course parents can be in charge of a lot of that during a child's formational years as well. It's always interesting when a villain has some form of offspring to see if they follow suit or roll away from the proverbial tree. Talia Al Ghul seems to roll back and forth constantly, while Kalibak in STAS is little more than a minion for Darkseid. Which is all he seems to want really. Judging by the brief image after the episode ended next up is Mean Seasons. Hope you enjoy, it's another one of my favorites, and equally tragic.

"Sometimes there are no happy endings". Pretty dark for a "kids" show. I love this episode. Also LOL that look Batman makes when Jim Gordon says he's happy Barbara is over her wild days 😂

It's a real shame that girl had to turn out to be not a real girl, just clay from Clayface himself😞

Im guessing your discussion at the end is the same reason u love star wars the clone wars? That show closely analyzes the idea of wether or not the clones are simply just products of an experiment and their only purpose for existence is to fight and die in war or the idea that they are more than that and deserve to live fulfilling lives. Hopefully u watch the bad batch cuz that show leans into it too.
