A few things you should know about watch order: 1. The episode “Injustice For All” should be watched between the episodes “The Enemy Below” and “Paradise Lost.” I don’t know if HBOmax actually has these episodes out of order but “Injustice For All” originally aired late to tie in with a video game release and because of that it’s often listed in the wrong order 2. The film “Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths” should be watched after the Justice League series finale and before starting Justice League Unlimited, the movie is not technically canon but it was originally written as canon and even though it was rewritten to not be, it still opens with the consequences of the Justice League series finale (and can therefore spoil the finale) and sets up multiple aspects of Justice League Unlimited 3. The film “Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman” can be watched anytime during or after Justice League 4. The film “Batman and Harley Quinn” can be watched anytime during or after Justice League Unlimited 5. The film “Justice League vs. The Fatal Five” should be watched after Justice League Unlimited

Yes, Batman often has a dog, his name is Ace the Bat-Hound and you’ll meet him in Batman Beyond

There may be spoilers in some of his videos, but the channel “Implicitly Pretentious” has some amazing breakdowns of certain characters/relationships from Justice League, BTAS, STAS, etc. and basically every major superhero work you can think of. There’s at least a video or two on Hawkgirl and Jon Stewart (the Green Lantern in this show). Very deep dive into not only the psychological aspects of these characters but, how they’re written in a literary context as well. Amazing channel, highly recommend 👍

I'm so excited that we are finally at Justice League. It's been my most anticipated show for you to react to. So several things to clarify: George Newbern is the the new actor voicing Superman and he should sound familiar since he also played him in the Superman vs The Elite movie. Tim Daly couldn't return cause he was apparently contractually obligated to other projects (side note but his son Sam Daly actually voiced Superman in the Flashpoint Paradox movie you reacted to). The Green Lantern in this show is John Stewart. In the comics, he's the 4th human Green Lantern after the 3rd human Green Lantern, Guy Gardner (who Nathan Fillion is playing in the new Superman movie), was injured in an accident after saving someone and was out of action. The Guardians and Hal Jordan chose John to serve as a backup Lantern in case something happened to Hal. The Flash in this is not Barry Allen but his protege/successor Wally West. He is the nephew to Barry's wife Iris West and was a sidekick to Barry called Kid Flash. Wally is also a founding member of the Teen Titans. For Hawkgirl, this is the second Hawkgirl and this version in the comics actually went by Hawkwoman and not Hawkgirl. I won't go into her origin cause of spoilers and also cause it's actually super complicated. With Imperium and the invaders, those are original to the show. In the comics, the war that Martian Manhunter explains was actually started by the white martians, which are an alternative vicious race of martians compared to the more peaceful green martians. I think you're going to love J'onn J'onnz/Martian Manhunter even more in this show. He's the heart of the team and is part of some of my favorite episodes of the show. And yeah in this show, Aquaman is not a founding member of the Justice League like he is in the comics but this is just another iteration of the Justice League and you're going to find that in the other shows and movies, each of them have their own lineup of the Justice League and have their own version as to how they each met and eventually formed the team. Also the space station in the sky that Batman called the Watchtower, in the comics, it's the second headquarters for the Justice League as the first one was originally a uniquely shaped building in Washington D.C. called the Hall of Justice. Also the astronaut Carter was actually not based on President Jimmy Carter but rather another fictional character known as John Carter of Mars. I'm not familiar with it but apparently he's a fictional character known for fighting mythological beasts and aliens I'm just so hyped that we are finally at this show! One of the strongest features of this show and its sequel Justice League Unlimited that I love is its writing. And I'm super excited to hear your thoughts after each episode since the writing only gets better. Plus they cover some interesting themes. Also unrelated but I saw on your stream the other day talking about Injustice and yeah it's a pretty emotional story that I should've warned you about. I'm hoping you still watch the cutscene video I put in discord at some point, especially cause you were talking about shadow selves and alternate versions of people, parallel realities and alternate dimensions in the Flashpoint reaction and I felt you'd enjoy the story in the Injustice games since it kind of deals with that. But thanks so much for your amazing reaction Meg! I'm super excited for the next ones!!

I used to pray for times like this

It's about time Meg! This is just the beginning of your journey through Justice League TAS! As you've seen it all started with an alien invasion that brought not just Superman and Batman together again but other heroes as well. Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Hawkgirl and Green Lantern! By the way this GL's name is John Stewart. Anyway they all worked together to stop the invasion and now they are the JUSTICE LEAGUE!!!

I really like the way Batman in drawn. The bat ears are kind of like the later seasons of "batman: the animated series" but the suit has a lot more detail in this version. The color scheme also looks a little like the batsuit from the early seasons of batman. It seems like a blend of the two art styles from the animated series. Fun fact, one of the voice actors was also on the tv series Smallville playing a completely different character, which also started in 2001. The Green Lantern's name is John Stewart. Not Jon Stewart from the Daily Show, John not Jon. John Stewart was introduced in the comics in 1971. This is the 4th time an aliens have tried to invade or attack Earth. First there was Brainiac, then Darkseid, then the hivemind "Unity" (That's the name you couldn't think of) and now these guys. That's a lot of invasions.

So excited to be here while you experience my personal favorite DC show. In terms of not knowing certain characters, I wouldn’t worry too much. They spend a lot of time teaching us about each character as the series goes on. You might also stumble across spoilers about some VERY important arcs if you do too much research. The best part of this show is watching these characters grow with each other and learning to be a team. Have fun! Wish I could be watching this show for the first time with my adult brain too!

In Preparation for this day i looked up the series Wikipedia (also to know when my favorite episodes would be posted by Meg) and there are commentes on Batmans Costume: it is the same Costume as The New Batman Adventures, but with the blue Highlights from Batman The Animated Series and the Long ears from Batman Beyond. Also i have Always wondered because People have Said to watch Beyond before Justice League because of the Episode Epilogue from Justice League Unlimited contains spoilers for Batman Beyond. Isnt IT the Same with the two episodes The Once and Future Thing Part One and Two from Unlimited?

Great first start to this series. I could tell you’re gonna enjoy it. All the voice cast did a great job that many often view them as the definite voices of these characters when they read the comics. Hawkgirl basically took Aquaman’s spot as a founding member in this series but it’s not an issue as many enjoy her character. She was briefly seen in the new Superman trailer. As mention in the Green Lantern episode of Superman, there are about five humans who gain a ring in canon and John Stewart is one of them. Flash in this show is Wally West who is the person to take up the mantle of Flash after Barry Allen. As you saw, he’s a bit more cocky than Barry but has a big heart. Even though this show is a continuation/sequel of BTAS & STAS, Tim Daly was busy with other things so George Newbern took over and he did such a good job with the role as an older Superman since the show takes place a bit of time after STAS series finale, “Legacy”. George would continue to play Clark in a few other projects that fans often say he & Tim are the two best voices for Clark.

The Amazing Webhead

Great reaction as always. In all honesty, this show & the Marvel animated series, Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are considered as the best depictions of these teams and I agree. Both even have amazing intros. Avengers Earth’s Mightiest Heroes or EMH as it’s also known is another show I think you also would love to watch someday in the future. In some ways, it’s better than the MCU. The 1990’s to early 2010’s were really the golden age of superhero cartoons. This show, Avengers EMH, TMNT 2003 & 2012, Spectacular Spider-Man, Static Shock, Teen Titans, etc. All great shows. ^^

Welcome to the good standard of DC adaptations.

Owen Wildish

I've seen this and have it on DVD, love it, but it's kind of funny. I've never seen any film or animated adaptation of the original (Silver Age) version of JLA's origin story comic, basically (hopefully this is not a spoiler) where the original 7 JLA team gets together and fights this certain alien thing that's appeared in one film, a certain film you haven't reacted to yet that looks like a certain sea animal...

HeroesKey

I’d delete the last part cause that is a spoiler as Meg hasn’t watched The Suicide Squad movie yet

serp3n

You'll get plenty about Hawkgirl from this show, the only real bulletpoints you need is that she's a warrior from a race of aliens and uses an Nth metal mace (DC's mcguffin metal, like how marvel has vibranium), which is really good at stopping anything magical.

serp3n

Oh, and the Green Lantern is John Stewart - A marine-turned-architect. In a lot of media he's the "Serious" Lantern, His constructs tend to be very utilitarian compared to the mallets and robots you get from Hal and Kyle. He's often shown struggling with PTSD, and sees his role in the lanterns as just being a soldier all over again. Check out "Green Lantern: War Journal" for a solid modern story that summarizes his character pretty well.

Owen Wildish

Please be careful of major spoilers about Hawkgirl in this.

Owen Wildish

Thanks. I don't like spoiling things, so I just deleted that part about you know what. I thought she'd reacted to that already. Oops.

Frankie H

Yeah, Once and Future thing Part 2 in Justice league Unlimited specifically have spoilers for Batman Beyond.

Sonia Deepak

Yayyyyyy! I'm so happy you enjoyed it! I love how much you already love all the characters ❤️. The team dynamics and interactions are the best part of this series IMO.

Ethan Sofinowski

This is when the Timverse really kicks into another gear and it just keeps getting more and more awesome. They don't really make shows like this anymore let alone 'kids' shows.

Kalle-Tapani Isomaa

Justice League and Justice League Unlimited is just golden show. But if you want to dive more into Marvel one day after you've finished X-Men live action universe i highly recommend Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heroes. It is equally good show.

The beginning of the DCAU's crowning achievement. I would definitely consider Justice League to have been made in the golden age of superhero cartoons- not only all the DCAU shows, but Spider-Man '94 (hint, hint), X-Men and Iron Man all making strong showings. In retrospect, it was telling how this show didn't air on Saturday morning or after school where I live- it aired past 7 at night. If it wasn't rated T or YA, it should've been. I would NOT advise looking up any Hawkgirl-related material. The show will feed you what you need to know about this character in due time. Wonder Woman is a lot better-known, and many including myself clamored for her to get her own show as the third of DC's main trio. One of the most common aspects of her setting is that while Diana loves her mother Queen Hippolyta very much, they usually have deeply conflicting views on 'Man's World' outside of Themiscyra. Hippolyta believing it to be a savage place that cannot be saved, while Diana wants to learn more about the world and redeem it, a stance which her mother considers naive. I will say that the 2-parter format took the writers some getting used to; many of this show's early episodes have a lot of flab coming across in excessive drawn-out fight scenes. This 3-part pilot could have been pared down to 2 episodes with tighter plotting and less 'they beat up the Imperium/White Martians again'. The result is still good though. Just manage your expectations, and later episodes will astound.

Black Zach

Justice league is great and it just get better in the later episodes once they find thier stride.

Super quick 101 on identities here: Green Lantern - is John Stewart here, the 3rd one from Earth I think, at least in the comics. Hawkgirl - goes by the name Shayera Hol. And the Flash - is the sidekick Wally West. Barry had been dead for several years by the point of production for this show, and Wally had stepped into his running shoes back in the mid-late '80s, so they stuck with him. The actor, Michael Rosenbaum would have also been playing Lex Luthor on Smallville around this time! Superman is voiced by George Newbern, who I only really know from the 'Father of the Bride' movies. He's played Clark a few times now.

Brandon Dodge

George also voiced Sephiroth in Advent Children
