I was hoping we'd get a Justice League reaction eventually since you and Caleb got back from your travels (which I hope was good). But once again, another amazing set of amazing episodes with this one focusing on the Flash. You mentioning how Superman wasn't in this was something that Bruce Timm and the other writers have mentioned how difficult it was to try and include all the members in each episode. So some characters may not show up but you can use the excuse that they could be on other missions as to the reasons why they aren't available. With this episode focusing on the Flash, there was a ton of references to his lore. Solovar is the leader of Gorilla City and while they didn't show it, he does have powers like telepathy, super strength and genius level intellect, similar to Grodd. Speaking of Gorilla Grodd, he is actually one of Flash's biggest villains and I believe you met him in the Public Enemies movie when he mind controlled some of the villains to attack Superman and Batman. That moment where you see a man get struck by lightning is actually in reference to how Barry Allen got his powers but they used Wally instead. Another thing is that whole sequence afterwards where you see him get fat and slow, looking into the mirrors with his head getting bigger and him becoming a puppet, that is all references to comic covers with Barry Allen Flash. And to answer your question about why the episode took place in Central City, that's where the Flash lives and the city he protects, much like Superman does with Metropolis and Batman with Gotham. Although Barry Allen Flash is usually the one that lives and protects Central City in the comics, whereas Wally West Flash usually lives in and protects Keystone City. However, there are times where they travel to each others cities to help out or cover for one another, which isn't far for them. Not just cause of their superspeed but also cause Central City is in Missouri and Keystone City is in Kansas. But this was another amazing episode or episodes. And idk if you noticed in the credits but the teleplay was written by the late great Dwayne McDuffie as this is the first episode he helped in writing. He eventually becomes one of the head writers in season 2 so I can't wait for you to see more of the episodes he did. Can't wait for when you and Caleb check out Batman Forever and also for when you check out the next DCAMU movie which I think is either Throne of Atlantis or Batman vs. Robin. Don't remember which one you said you were going to do next

Good reaction! You met Gorilla Grodd who is one of Flash’s biggest villains in the comics. It makes sense considering this was a Flash centric story. The episode perfectly sums up Grodd’s character. Super intelligent gorilla bend on ruling the world viewing himself as savior to everyone using mind control. There are times where you see himself say things like “kneel before Grodd.” Grodd has been at odds with Barry Allen’s Flash & Wally West’s Flash for years. He’s one of my favorite dc villains. You did briefly met him in Superman/Batman Public Enemies as one of the many villains that Lex Luthor hired when he sent that bounty on Superman. Gorilla City is a thing in DC canon. Central City is also where Flash operates and protects. So there are some small lore hints to the Flash’s world. The beginning where he chases the truck showcases why we need a Flash animated show. Lol

Another thing to say is you got to see Bruce x Diana or Wonderbat as it’s called in the fandom. It’s the one Batman ship that can rival Bruce/Selina in terms of popularity. Most people ship these versions of the characters particularly. Bruce & Diana has had moments of attraction to each other in the comics but it isn’t shown often depending on who’s writing the story. Despite the attraction being there, it never really goes nowhere like as far as I’m aware, they never dated. Especially considering they both had other love interests writers probably wanted to showcase more. So they often remain as close friends which is what their dynamic is for most other interpretations. I say this because the Justice League show is one of the few times you actually get to see the romantic side of their relationship. I’m probably in the minority that I don’t personally ship them. I don’t hate it & I respect people who do ship it. Just isn’t my favorite. :) I’m more of a Batcat stan because they’re endgame goals like Clois. 😅

W JL episodes ofc...and The Batman director Matt Reeves directed the last 2 films of the Apes trilogy which are the best 2.

Not to be confused with the animated series Brave and the Bold, though this one feels closer to it than most Justice League outings with its' city of talking apes. Naturally Flash is a perfect fit with all this 60s comics weirdness, though he also demonstrates a hidden cunning in outwitting Grodd. That's an interesting story on how DC got its' slew of gorilla characters. Sort of like 'Wolverine Publicity' with monkeys. We also have the first hint of WonderBat, one of the most beloved bonds in the show. I know a lot of people prefer Selina, but she's not in this show. Batman be getting all the ladies as usual.

This episode was something like a "Planet of the Apes" type of thing. Flash and GL dealing with an evil genius Gorilla named Grodd who tried to take over Central City for his own. Good thing Flash managed to handle him in the end. It was just very weird how that lady scientist actually loved him.
