TERRY!!!! 😍 OLD MAN BATS!!!! 😭 ACE!!!!!! 🐶

Let me know which episodes (if any) you'd like to see recorded live! Or if you'd like just reviews/general discussions! Pls remember I must prioritize my time as the reaction channel isn't my fulltime gig 💖

I hear you about Static Shock, so same goes as above--let me know of any important episodes to record a reaction to.

Batman Beyond Rebirth Reaction

Spidey Productions

Hope you watch more this was the that made me a Batman fan and Batman beyond supporter this show is so underrated and well done

Brandon Gibbs

You really should be starting Static Shock along with JL Unlimited too.

If you need to cut episodes out from full video reactions, I would suggest waiting until season 2 to do so. S1 of beyond is generally excellent, S2 and 3 have a bit of production meddling to be less dark and so are a bit more inconsistent, but still have some must-watch episodes.

Hime Idol's IM@S Video Requests

The only BB episode needed is The Call since one character introduced there will play heavily into a subplot in JLU. Other than that the only other BB content needed is Return of the Joker movie. That's if you wanted to jump right into JLU.

Love it ❤️ I can't wait to watch the rest .

For Batman Beyond I think the absolutely must record episodes are Blackout, Meltdown,Dead Man's Hand The Winning Edge, Ascension, Once Burned, Eyewitness, Ace in the Hole, Out of the Past, The Call, and the movie For Static Shock they're Shock to the System, Aftershock, Sons of the Father, The Big Leagues, Frozen Out, Jimmy, Hard as Nails, Gear, A League of Their Own, Toys in the Hood, Flashback, Future Shock, and Fallen Hero

DrunkMattMurdock

So yeah although Damien technically did exist before him being introduced to Bruce was in 2006 and this came out in 1999, but it is a nice afterthought kind of a "what if?" This is a very edgy 90's show, but that's why i love it, and it defenetly has some inspiration from Blade Runner or even Terminator (it's funny how many 80's and 90's movies and shows did cybernathic enhencment or flying cars and stuff like that)

Ludwig's Fishbowl

YESS!! Love this show!! I think Meltdown should definitely be recorded live/reacted to!!

Anakin Moonwalker

The Call is essential viewing episode wise and there's another episode called Out of the Past, as well. Aside from that, there is a movie tie in to Batman Beyond once you're finished with the series that is similar to how Mask of the Phantasm ties into BTAS it's called Batman Beyond Return of the Joker it is absolutely essential viewing. Maybe the best DC Animated film ever made. Definitely top 3

Love this! I've seen lots of Batman Beyond growing up, but I've never seen the whole thing. This will give me an excuse to do so, even if you're not reacting to it in its entirety. In terms of must see episodes from Season 1 to react to, I would suggest Meltdown, the Winning Edge, & Ascension. I'll have to rewatch Season 2 and 3 to remember which ones you should react to though.

Oh I'm so excited you started this. You finally get to meet the great Terry McGinnis and see where the Batman Beyond suit came from. So many people who have played Arkham City and Arkham Knight might be familiar with the suit because it was an alternate skin you could use to play as but most are unaware of where it came from. They just think it's a cool suit (which it is). But you watching this, you get to see where it came from. Because they didn't mention it at all in the episode, the night that Bruce retired as Batman took place in 2019 when Bruce was around his 50s and the 20 years later that is present day, takes place in 2039 when Bruce is 70 years old and Terry is 17. I'm so glad you caught it and saw that Bruce retiring was cause of his desperation to use a gun because of his failing health. Every Batman fan knows how much he hates firearms and killing and you could tell the fear he had holding the gun before he dropped it. Someone put it perfectly, Batman started from a gun and it ended with a gun. You have actually seen an old Bruce before with The Dark Knight Returns. The difference with that continuity is that Bruce retired due to Jason's death and only came back after the rise of crime since his retirement. Also Alfred was still alive until after Bruce fought Superman. You also got to meet Terry McGinnis and it's funny that you said that he reminds you of Spider-Man cause that's exactly what they were going for with Terry's personality. If I remember correctly, the network wanted a new Batman show that was geared to a more youthful audience. So Bruce Timm and co made this show. I'm actually surprised that you like the art style and didn't call it old since the art is exactly the same as it was from The New Batman Adventures. Like compared this to Justice League, this is much older, which makes sense since Batman Beyond came out in 1999 and Justice League in 2001. It also should be noted that Damian Wayne didn't exist yet and would not exist officially until 2006 But I'm so glad you are loving the show so far. As for what episodes to watch, I would actually love if you checked out most of season 1 since they are really amazing and there are only 13 episodes. Seasons 2 and 3 I'm fine with you skipping around since there's some not so important episodes but I'll leave it to others to decide which ones are good enough for a reaction. There's also the Batman Beyond movie after you finish the series that is really good. But I'm so excited to what you think of the show as you keep watching!! Also I'm so happy you said it reminded you of Bladerunner and classic Cyberpunk because that is exactly what the inspiration was

Yesss you saw one of my favorite superhero shows! Beyond is a sequel show to BTAS set in the future. So background for the show was that during the final season of BTAS, Warner Bros approach Bruce Timm & Paul Dini about a pitch for a show about a teenage Batman for younger viewers as BTAS did get more darker. They originally refused not wanting to do a story of a younger Bruce instead decided to have it set in the future where an old man Bruce trains Terry Mcgennis as the new Dark Knight. Kind of ironic they didn’t want a dark show but Beyond is arguably darker lol. The whole concept itself was created for this show. This isn’t a canon thing that happened. Terry is actually an original character made for the show. However, he became a fan favorite and many consider him a worthy successor to the role. Some even say better choice than all the Robins. His popularly led to DC bringing him to the comics all be it having him be from a different universe similar to the cartoon instead of the mainline comic continuity where Bruce is still Batman. You can even get the bat suit in some of the video games. To answer about Damian, the character wasn’t created when the show came out. Beyond came out in 1999 & Damian wasn’t introduce until 2006. Canonically, Jason Todd does come back as Red Hood but that wouldn’t be a thing until 2007.

Funfact, the voice of Terry, Will Friedle, is also best known as Eric from Boy Meets World and Ron Stoppable from Kim Possible. Kim Possible has an episode where Ron Stoppable meets the Fearless Ferret, a play on Batman, who has become old, and when Ron finds out his secret, he takes his place as the new Fearless Ferret. He's voiced by Adam West, famous for playing Batman in the 60's cartoon.

So when it comes to the show, considering what you said at the end regarding which episodes to record, I would say that the show has some amazing episodes & some alright to meh. For me, I recommend reacting to most of season 1 as it has 13. It also introduces important characters also. I would skip episode 4 & maybe 6. For season 2 & 3, there are ones that can be skipped or watch off camera. I can make a small list for ones to skip on discord if that’s alright. Of course save the movie until the end. 👀

HeroesKey

Yeah I agree with seeing reactions to most of season 1 and seasons 2 and 3 Meg can skip around since there are some not so great episodes that aren't that important or can be watched off screen

Kevin Bernard

Oh goodness... I can tell this is going to be more of a complication than it needs to be reading these comments... Most of what they saying about how you should react to the show, and what episodes shouldn't even matter 😂 It's the show order that's important (no I'm not talking year releases) Nevermind that... Great reaction. Those are not scares on Bruce's face though, those are wrinkles lol. Watching this episode a few times I'll have to disagree with your take on why Bruce stop being Batman. I don't believe it's because he picked up a gun. Of course we ALL know he would never use one, but I still think he picked it up, because he knew the guy would run away. He quit being Batman because his heart couldn't take the fast pace moves his body had to do for that job. At least that's what I've always took from that scene.

The Amazing Webhead

You brought up how similar Terry is to Spider-Man and you’re right as the writers were taking a lot of influence from Spidey. Both characters are teenagers who went through a tragedy. Both took it upon themselves to become heroes. Lastly both quip jokes which shows how different Terry is than Bruce when it comes to being Batman. I would also say they took inspiration from Spider-Man 2099 aka Miguel O Hara. I don’t remember if you seen the Spiderverse films but Miguel has similar vibes to Terry in that they’re both successors, living in a future full of corruption, and honoring the mantle of the legacy hero. Miguel debut in 1992 with his comics. Couple of years before Beyond came out.

This is awesome, I love Cyberpunk Batman!!!

"Very good then, Mister McGinnis. WELCOME TO MY WORLD." Dramatic music plays. This show rocks. Really hope you watch a bit more of this Meg. This was great. If you chose to react to select episodes please react to Meltdown which is episode 5 I think. It made me tear up as a kid. Still does. The situation with Bruce's company is explained by the reporters in the beginning of both these episodes. It comes up very fast and is easy to miss. They said that Mr. Powers did a "hostile takeover" of Bruce's company. I'm not exactly sure how hostile takeovers work but I'm assuming Derek Powers bought Bruce's company against Bruce's wishes. It's interesting that Terry's first impulse was not to kill the man who killed his dad, Terry tried to arrest him. Terry might have anger issues but he's a good guy deep down.

THIS WAS SOOO COOL. The music was very Vampire: The Masquerade vibes. I'm very very obsessed with this <3

Finally! I’ve been waiting for this since the end of Batman the animated series. Can’t wait for you to meet Terrys rogues and….a couple surprise guests from the past, and a movie that I personally feel rivals mask of the phantasm as one of the greatest DC animated films.

'Time takes everyone out. It's undefeated.' Tres schway, didn't expect to see this quite so soon. While I would prefer you catch all of Season 1 (S1 is all great but Season 2 has some weak ones), the recommended S1 standouts for me would be Meltdown, Shriek, Dead Man's Hand and the finale Ascension. Legendary theme song by Rob Zombie. This show also has quite the backstory, born from what sounds like a terrible idea. Marketing execs wanted the creative team to do a younger Batman set in high school with more kid/toy appeal. In order to avoid ruining all the good work they did with BTAS and STAS, the decision was made to advance the timeline into a harsh (well as harsh as an animated kids' show can get) Cyberpunk era, where a new face takes up the cowl under an elderly Bruce Wayne's mentorship. The lazy way to do it would be to have Dick Grayson or Tim Drake become the new Batman, but Terry McGinnis quickly become a fan favourite. Likewise it would've been easy to just revive old villains but Terry's rogues are brand-new.

So happy you watched this. You’d LOVE episode 3. I’d also suggest episodes 5, 7, 8, 11, and 13 from season 1.

Coda Silverman

I’d have to disagree with the reasoning behind him quitting. His face when he sees the gun? He’s horrified. Batman has come back from more physical defeats than we can count. It was this mental/moral defeat that made him throw in the towel. The fact that he was physically incapacitated to the point that he “broke” and picked up a gun, he broke his own code in way. He felt like he couldn’t trust himself anymore and maybe even that he didn’t deserve to be Batman anymore. That’s always been my opinion anyway.

Kevin Bernard

When I seen the look on his face as he dropped the gun, I always took it as he seen it as another sign to know when to quit before he even felt how you say he should've felt. But not everybody is going to read or see a scene the same way apparently, and that's what probably makes it great art to begin with

I'm dying for the next Clone Wars Reaction
