Hey friends, I heard that some of y’all are struggling to download. I tested it on another account and it says that too many people are downloading, which sure I guess but I’m paying $10/month… anyways, I’m going to try to find another hosting site in the meantime. I’m so sorry.

No worries! I know a couple of people who have had this issue. I think Vimeo can work sometimes but not sure for definite

Other sites are Vimeo or Streamable. And something to think about is turning your reactions into stream alongs. Where we sync up and you don't include the video. That way there's no risk of breaking guidelines and getting in trouble. Like include a little audio in the beginning so we can get in sync. That could be much easier than Google Drive.

Well

There are ways around the limit, buy eh. Oh, and please don't break the bank try'na find a better hosting site. Thanks fer all y'all do for us <3

Well

Vimeo is extremely strict with copyright though...

Ohhh. I only suggested it cos I follow another Patron that gets away with it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hi, I don't know if you want any input, so please ignore this comment if it's unwanted. I have subscribed to many different reactors here on Patreon over the past few years. The 3 top options for hosting that I see are these; 1. Upload the file onto YouTube unlisted on a separate channel. This is the one I see the most. Reactors usually give a countdown and have a clock on screen for syncing. Though, you can't have the sound from the movie/show or any video from the movie that isn't severely blurred. Google's algorithm is watching. 2. Upload the video to Vimeo or another similar hosting site. I think this one is less popular because of subscription costs and you may run into similar download limits. 3. This is the shotgun approach. You upload to several different places and hope the downloads get spread thin enough that the limit won't be hit often. As you grow this will become less attractive as an option just due to numbers. Not to say that there aren't any other options. These are just the ones I know have been used. One last little bit of unsolicited advice is to be careful about copyright. Reactors have been banned and had to take their videos down. I really enjoy your content and I would not want that to happen to you.

This is super helpful thank you. I knew we were playing with fire but I think this was our first warning lol. I think the YouTube unlisted watch along is a great option!

Yes I forgot that. That would also work just make sure that syncing is easy. Timers are helpful, but I've found that sometimes it can be hard for people to keep the timer in sync with the movie. A little audio from the movie is allowed, and that's honestly the best way I've found for syncing, but yeah video that isn't blurred is a big no no.

Is the timer just for the countdown, or the whole movie? And the audio is at the beginning? Thanks for the help y'all, it's hard to find this info readily available on the web lol

Shane G

The timer is usually for the entire movie. It's not going to be 100% for everyone because people watch on different streaming sites, files, or discs that may have slightly different movie lengths. But, it helps most of the time.

As for audio, I do watch some guys that play a bit of low audio for less than 30 seconds at the beginning to help with syncing. It seems to work for them.

FearTheTREMOR

When I say audio I generally mean at the beginning just in a just so we can hear the 1st few words spoken in the movie or the music so we know whether we are with you in sync or not. The timer goes from 0 and kind of counts up for the whole movie.
