So happy to start this journey again with you guys! you'll love it the writing is some of my fave in marvel and marvel has plenty of dark characters the movies haven't tackeled em all, like Blade, Ghost rider, wolverine with x-men etx so many. & cudous to you guys for catching the symbolism too in one episode I love that Marvel has a disabled hero who is religious & uses his disadvantage as an advantage

Ahhhh I’m so ready for this! I’m so excited to rewatch this amazing show with you guys. One of my favorite shows I’ve ever watched and I especially love the opening title intro too. So visually and musically appealing. I’m so here for all the emotions you’re gonna feel from this show and also for when you guys check out the other Defenders shows!

So small thing, just to confirm yes the Incident is the Invasion of New York by the Chitarui Army led by Loki, the main conflict of the first Avengers movie.

1. Karen wanted to expose Union Allied/know more about the supposed laundering/confirm it/have someone to voice her suspicions to, blah blah blah blah... So she went to Danny, invited him to the bar, and at the bar they were both drugged pretty much the second she starts confiding in Danny.... She then wakes up in *her* apt. next to Danny's stabbed corpse, knife in hand, and covered in Danny's blood... Before getting to the bar she'd obvi made the file copy, just in case, even before talking to Danny, or meeting him at the bar. Nothing to do with her wanting to ''get rich''/ blackmail anyone. She's a good person. 2. After being almost killed in prison, for simply ''doing the right thing''; two lawyers out of the blue; ''Hey we representin' you now, cuzz we heard 'bout yo case frm this rando cop we bribed''...... At that point Karen only tells 'em so much, because duh, and doesn't really know who to trust with the file, *and* doesn't want anyone else to get hurt either, also because of her... So she doesn't give it to them/lies about having it/knowing why ''they'd'' wanna kill her in the first place... Only after she sees what ''The Man In The Mask'' can do first hand, does she then heed *his* word and give the file to the paper who then blows the story wide open. None of that is spoilers; it's pretty much spelled out in the ep. But I get it, a lot to take in, watching the ep with another person, trying to be entertaining while watching, discussing points as they happen, etc, etc, etc... We were all hyper focused when this ep. first came out back in 2015, and by now I personally have seen this ep, along with the first season in its entirety an entirely all to embarrassing number of times, but there it is. Love 2 u both, so glad your doing this/enjoying it so far <3

The fact that you guys can find this much symbolism and themes in this first episode is a great sign that you'll love the rest of this season. Some of the upcoming episodes will spell it out a bit better, but this whole show is just a whole bunch of beautiful analogies.
